My mechanic is taking something called a holiday - which is totally unacceptable in my opinion

Car is still parked up in a semi-secure compound for the moment - and we are having to manage with just the X3 and the Morgan - which actually hasn't moved since last year!

Assuming you are ruling out SUVs - you are limited to: Audi A6 BMW 5-series - 525D and up Merc E-Class - pretty much all of them since the W124 with diesel or 6/8 engines Subaru Legacy Volvo V70 and V90 (latest ones only) VW Passat - W8/R36/later DSG models However - they are all getting on a bit no...

What miles/kms are you guys on? 117k km here (give or take) and 8.5 years old - so I'm putting it down to age/kms at the moment

Trailer wasn't available so I headed over to the car - filled with water and drove it a mile to a friends compound.

I will try to blag the trailer for Thursday/Friday and drop the car back at his workshop.

Yikes! With a trail of coolant visible most likely something like a split coolant reservoir/radiator/hose? Best of luck sorting it. That's my guess. Although I have breakdown cover - with a dog that doesn't travel well, a 6mth baby and a desire to see at least the 2nd half the rugby I wasn't going ...

**Gulp** the wife has tried to kill the B5S

This weekend we had our first weekend in our new ski bolt hole - nothing particularly flash but direct access to the ski-lift rather works. Anyway I was using the X3 and a trailer to move stuff - and the wife (and baby) were using the B5S. On Saturday when I went to move the Alpina it was saying coo...

I seem to recall that the Alpina's (and specifically the e9x model B3) have Akrapovic exhausts, which is more bespoke than the OEM ones? Bert Akrapovic from XD3 onwards IIRC - with F3x B3 and D3 having slightly different designs E9x was "Alpina" exhaust - and isn't a particularly clever rear box de...

I dont know about your F30, but on my E92 I found the exhaust to be fairly muted.
Swapping out the OEM rear boxes for aftermarket ones works really well on the E9x. Or it did on my B3X coupe

I know Heidegger ordered a B3 for a client with a D3 exhaust system - for added sound.

Lavalina I is seats + minor interior elements Lavalina 2 is the above + pretty much every surface that has type approval to be covered in leather will be covered in leather. That means that for an E9x 3-series the top half of the dash is not covered in leather - it would be on a E6x. Having had a La...

I'll post something similar at the weekend - a salty trip to Brunni a couple of weeks ago has the car looking rather white.

The X3 is looking properly used at the moment :)
