Wider cars + Monaco = racing fail

I love Monaco for its history but as a race it is a complete and utter waste of time.

Give me 85-95 (non-active) chassis with 2017 engines and components - and go racing.

I picked up the Alpina last night!! Apart from it looking a little frumpy on its 18" winter wheels (it has been in that long) the car looked perfect - including a nice clean outside and in. Mechanic waiting on 2 things:
1) Confirmation to proceed with the repair from the warranty company
2) BMW expert to help inspect the engine for damage

There are concerns that there might be additional damage and that any Alpina specific parts might make it uneconomical to repair

4 Alpinas - all with the proper badges.

I can understand putting fake Alpina badges on a fake Alpina - but putting them on a real Alpina seems crazy. (Says the man with non-original stripes).

I saw the AGA one earlier - it looks like a rather nice bit of kit.

My mechanic has also already mentioned better quality after market replacement parts - so we'll see what they warranty covers.

He has pinged off a request for parts from BMW/Alpina - and is expecting a bill of 8,500chf back. He is worried water...
