No, I got them like this from the previous owner. They didn't get any worse during my 14 months of ownership.

There was a topic once which had the part number of the silicone spacers. I'm having trouble finding it. Can anyone remember the p/n? My order is almost ready: 4 x 36 13 135 ALPINA-emblem with support 4 x 36 13 124 spring 4 x 36 13 125 locking plate DIN 6799 D4 VA Edit: found it! Amusing that the li...

Center caps - remove logo and lock

I'm having my rims and center caps refurbished. I will be ordering new logo's, but I was wondering whether I should be careful removing them from the center cap. What is included with the center cap logo? The spring and the little "ring" (see arrow below)? Or do I need to re-use them with the new lo...

E46: Brake disc frost damage OR normal wear?

Since the recent Ice Age braking feels a bit rough. Sometimes there's a little wobble, but it goes away after a while. The discs also have a lot more grooves than before the winter. (std BMW 330i items) Is this a common problem? Can this be mended, without having to replace discs and pads? The car h...

36.877 MPG

Today I finished a week of eco-driving. The result is 36.877 MPG (or 7.66 litres/100km) I drove a total of 488 miles on a single tank of Super 98. Modus operandi: - change gear at 2000rpm in every gear - cruise on the highway at 2500rpm (= approx. 72 mph) (75% motorway) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17851...

I've just received confirmation from Buchloe that this part is no longer available.
So I've got a choice between:
- Alpina leather/wood
- Alpina rosewood old-style
- BMW wood + emblem transplant

Here are some more pictures I just took. These clearly show the bad state of the gear knob.

Edit: there is no part number anywhere to be seen.

I have contacted Alpina export, and they're offering me this: http://www.alpina.jp/PARTS/IMAGES/2010.2.28/alpina_shifut_t.jpg Part number 23 10 003 (Palisanderholz = Brazilian Rosewood?) What do you think? How are these to handle? Do you think it will clash with the shiny wood trim on the dash? Triv...

E46 B3 all-wooden gear knob

My car has an all-wooden gear knob; thus: http://theALPINAregister.com/forums/userpix/21304_myknob_1.jpg As I've probably mentioned before: it's scratched and cracked, probably by the previous owner's rings. Now, I always like to take the path of least resistance, which in this case is ordering a ne...

Re: Alpina B3 3.3 handbook wanted

The car came minus a handbook and as I would like the car to be 'complete' I thought to ask if anyone had one they didn't want. I am prepared to pay a reasonable amount and postage of course. I've got my copy right here. I still need it, obviously, but here are the details. Maybe you could order a ...

Alpina Calendar 2011

Picked up my Alpina calendar yesterday: number 0183 out of 1555! Oh yes, it's numbered, just like our cars. Thick paper, brilliant photographs, well packaged. And it's big! 60x40cm. Where the heck am I going to hang it? And it's too nice to write anything on (kids' birthdays, shopping lists, importa...
