My reason af asking is my B3 passed it's mot today but got an advisory for a mild misting of oil on my front o/s shock. So I may have to invest in a new pair of front shocks . I need to do my research. My local dealer Eastern in Edinburgh can get me a price if I supply the correct Alpina part number...

Excuse my ignorance but isn't banging a set of coilovers on an Alpina a bit against the grain?
Surely having an Alpina is about the quality of ride that you get from genuine Alpina shocks.

Dealers like this who have cars for sale with no mot should be avoided in my experience. I've seen it too many times. Man gives dealer deposit. Dealer promises to get an mot. Car fails, dealer promises it'll get fixed, chap loses a interest and deposit as non refundable. It's a scam that goes on tim...

I'm a hige E30 fan and your touring is simply stunning. It's one of the best drivers chassis I have ever experienced. I love the lack of nanny aids like no traction control or brake force distribution. It's your skill and your right foot to keep you out of trouble. I hope you have many trouble free ...

It took me 3 years to purchase my B3 3.3 but it was well worth the wait. A facelift non S so the best of both worlds depending on opinion.
Some say the 3.3 is a more reliable lump than the 3.4 found in the S

I take it you checked you have the original staggered set up with wider rears?
If going for spacers then make sure they are hubcentric
5 x 120 10mm 15mm and 20mm hubcentric ones are readily available on ebay should you really wish to go down that route
