A cheap easy solution to this would be to line a cardboard box (lid too) with tin foil and make your own Faraday cage. Then leave your keys in there. One good test I am told is to put your cell phone inside your makeshift Faraday cage and call it, if you hear ringing from the cell inside, it isn’t...

Just a cautionary note, ones speed could easily calculated using objects that might be recorded on a dash-cam, as several motorcyclists have found to their cost. Obviously we all stick to the posted limits and only press the loud pedal on the autobahn!

Got the oil service, and micro filters done today, and some very nice comments on the car effusive in fact! As the next service is the bigger inspection one, I opted to have that done as well, it was due in 4,000 miles which would mean a return visit only 4000 miles into the current oil life. So hol...

Sytners Nottingham on Monday

As it says the B5 is getting an oil service on Monday, the first visit in my ownership...not sure who's doing it but hope to have a chat with who ever it is and possibly a walk round and under it for an informal heads up. Anyone there on Monday? If so can you keep me out of the showroom?! Adam http:...

Is it the cold? or something more sinister!

The B5 has been tucked up in the garage since Christmas Eve. I thought i should give it some use this week, started fine no problems, off we go for a couple of days away. It was outside and the day before yesterday it was bitterly cold. Fired up no problem, I then noticed there were no instruments w...

How much is a drive day typically? I think it was 1250 euros for the drive day, plus ferries, fuel, dinners and accommodation. So looking at 2500/3000 euros. Plus a shed load more if you want personal instruction from Andy Bovensiepen :D I learned my lesson last year........I'll be taking out insur...

Happy Christmas all and a peaceful New Year.

I hope to go to more meets in the New Year, especially the ones that aren't in the pouring rain and blowing a gail.
Very best

Nanook of the North here back in the igloo. Nice to meet the people behind the posts, as Hap said good company and cars! Mine came pre dirty as it was foul on the way down. Spent some time with my son this afternoon in Sheffield who helped me spend some of his inheritance! Best Adam http://i43.photo...
