Commiserations, £125 a pop is very steep. I thought bright work on vintage Japanese bikes was a rip off (£150 for a fuel cap) but that sucks.

What I mean by resistance is that it almost fights back if you scroll too fast...the one that doesn't I don't believe can be the same type maybe an earlier one....

Im glad that yours does it too...I feel happier about it now! They both work but very differently.

I drive, silly question ....my 06 250D has one or a version of it. It scrolls effortlessly without any resistance through any menu, phone book the lot. On my daily driver a 520d touring msport I got them swapped at around the 130K mark just to be safe (Was a glow plug fix too) I have now done in excess of 187K …still going strong (its an 06)

I feel your pain, I also passed on the dealers you mentioned to fettle the B5, and bit the bullet and drove to Nottingham (My son lives in Sheffield too!) I live ten minutes South of Middlesbrough!
