Been around here for a while. Was owned by one of the bodywork guys at Kinghorn. I spotted it there when the Smartie was getting repaired after a shunt from a van.

Good to know it's found its way on to the register. I tried to acquire it via a couple of forum members who were local to the seller but got no response. At least it's a bit closer to me now

Each to their own. I think the 80s style lettering is too brash for the E38 and E39. It only just works on the E36. :?

As he never emailed me copies of the paperwork that he promised I got the impression he was not that bothered about selling the car. Therfore I should imagine it is still for sale. Don't take it personally. He's failed to respond to several genuine enquiries. It'll probably appear again in 6 months...

I recall taking this one out for a test drive many years ago. It ticked quite a few boxes but I was not a fan of the chrome.

If the visible rust is like that, I wonder what horrors are lurking underneath. This is why my cars don't go out in winter

B8 values seem to be a little crazy at the moment, but it's no different to other models like the E30 M3 and even the MkII Ford Escort. I'd heard values in Europe were going over the €50k mark so $60k isn't out of the ball park. A few years ago, you would struggle to sell a B8 in the UK for double...

Someone has dymo taped "Alpina B2.5" into the fuse box
Looks genuine enough to me but with the caveat that a B2.5 is just a cosmetic Sytner special edition.

... apart from that bit above. I agree with the sentiment in relation to a B10 3.3 but not if you're discussing some of the earlier Alpinas - B7, B12 Coupe, BT, B8, B6 etc

The RS200 sounds epic though :P

Ha! I was about to say I'm sure I've seen this one around these parts but Roy has already pointed that out. If I'd known it was a special order version I would have taken more pictures in the Tesco car park

I very much doubt I'd own anything newer than the E46 and E39 I currently have. What he said! I've just had some floor corrosion dealt with on the E39. However, the E32/34/36 are still very solid. Anything after the E46 is like a high tech washing machine designed with a limited lifespan built in.
