I think BMW have moved the 335i down to a single scroll turbo to allow all
future M cars to have 'twin turbo' technology, so to differentiate the brand.

Ive noticed that the new 1 series M is twin turbo, as are the x5mx6m and upcoming m5

just a thought.....

Taken a quick look online for how a remapped 335i/d compares to the B3 and S BT models. Standard 335i remapped - £400 BHP = 348 bhp Torque = 489 Standard 335d remapped - £599 BHP = 350 bhp Torque = 730 ftlb Alpina B3 BT BHP = 360 bhp Torque = 500 ftlb this is NM so 368 Lbft Alpina B3S BT BHP = 40...

Re: Alpina Sold - And its goodnight from him

i finally sold my D3 Mono turbo yesterday, and will be moving away from Alpina for the time being as the price differential between the D3 mono and bi-turbos is too great for my budget. i have therefore placed a deposit on a 335d, and will still pop on here to report my findings. thanks to all for ...

One things for sure.. Alpina don't seem to be able to make reliable superchargers! Hope it gets fixed swiftly - I wonder if they've tweaked the SC again since your one? Rich ALPINA dont make the supercharger, ASA makes them and in general they are reliable, i think Duncan cant drive properly

I made speculation to this ages ago http://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5713&highlight= i still dont see the appeal of the new B5 over the new M5 from a performance POV. before it was all about torque vs high revs and now the engines are very similar may feel slihtly different but if...

Same dilemma for me. I had a 535d mapped by e-Maps, and it was monster the way it shot to the horizon. In 45k miles it averaged 42mpg and that wasnt hanging around on the motorways. It easy to buy into the Alpina map development statement, at the same time its not as powerful as various offerings p...

The cynic in me doesnt buy all that " ALPINA spend a lot of time on the map" its developed to sit at a certain price/performance level in the BMW range its as simple as that. I had a 335d that was a good standard car. Simon from emaps did his stuff, the car rr'd at 350bhp and 525lbft. It completely ...

Hi steve, dare I ask? what you are replacing it with? Ive bought an RS4 saloon. needed 4 doors, wanted a manual, its a fantastic car. Well built, the engine is AWESOME, real punch low down and then kicks again at 5500 all the way to 8200 rpm. Im very happy with it. Also in the wet ( normal manchest...
