Whilst doing the spring and shocks I replaced the front top mounts (alpina specific & handed*, as one bearing was knackered).
Wow, £96 each for those. Are they hugely different to the std items?

Re: E91 D3 Biturbo front shock absorbers

From confirming OE parts and cross checking to aftermarket, it became apparent the DX spring code can change depending on spec. My car is a non lux with D4 spring table code up front and D3 rear. The equivalent lux spec seems to be a D5 and D4. Apparently it's to do with the greater sprung mass a c...

Re: Coil Spring Specification

See below, copied from a previous post. In general I'd go with the BMW OEM Alpina spec shock & spring part no's (for your alpina vin) and whatever they carry across to on the OE supplier aftermarket parts. I went for Bilstien B4 shocks (understood to be SE spec) and Sachs/Lejosfors springs (underst...

Re: E90 D3 BT steering wheel and drivers mat

Yes indeed, maybe not cheaper than a std wheel but certainly a lot cheaper than a new Performance Wheel. (I'm not even sure you can get these new anymore) the only one I've seen for sale is on E Bay now at £1700 and it needs refurbishment. I sent Matt some photos which he will review in a bit. Its ...

Morning Neil,

I had my steering wheel retrimming by MPM Trimming. Matt Merriman 07936 021161. He also does the correct straight Alpina stitching perfectly.
The finished article below. Steering Wheel 1.jpg
Thanks, and i'm sure its alot cheaper than a new one too!!

Re: E91 D3 Biturbo front shock absorbers

I've an E90 D3 BiT and refreshed the front & rear suspension springs & shocks within the last 12 months. That was with the Bilstien B4 equivalents of the bmw numbers as advised by Alpina. The shocks part no's are as quoted in the alpina part cat and the springs are as per the BMW spring chart, deal...

Re: E90 D3 BT steering wheel and drivers mat

Thanks, that would be good. I did call BMR who can get hold of Alpina stuff. The mats are £160+Vat for the set, but you can get just the drivers one (which is all I need), for £62+vat. The steering wheel, which has double green stitching is available new for £750+vat.... Think i'll try for a retrim ...

E90 D3 BT steering wheel and drivers mat

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a steering wheel and drivers floor mat for my D3 BT. The Steering wheel is a sports steering wheel with green stitching. I'm not so worried about the condition of the trim around the buttons but the leather needs to be ok. For the drivers mat, i'm looking for one with the me...

Neil,
Welcome to the Forum and Alpina magic.
A thought is this covered by the BMW recall for the egr/cooler issues? Might be worth checking before you go to any expense
I called Sytner and they have confirmed that theres no recall on my car.

Re: Newbie with E90 D3 BT #382

Hey Neil, Great story so far and looking forward to the fix for the boost issue. Mark. Thanks Mark, I posted my initial boosting issues video the other day. You can get the EGR valve from fixparts-online for £150, but i'm probably going to try clean this first as i'm trying to spend as little as po...

Re: Coil Spring Specification

Same here, mine is 11 years old and 137k, plus I know the previous owner has had at least one shock replaced on front, and maybe one of back, which makes it feel a bit uneven.
I also find it has quite a strong rebound so i'm looking to replace shocks and spings.
