Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

The (mildly) good news is I’m 99% sure the dampers are standard BMW VDC versions, so supply shouldn’t be an issue. Good luck! Thank you. I was hoping that someone could confirm this for me seeing as they aren't in the parts catalogue. Knowing this has put a smile on my face as I thought I might be ...

Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

Using my Google Fu skills, I manage to find a catalogue. https://www.alpina-automobiles.com/fileadmin/user_upload/SERVICE_Workshop/02_Parts_Catalogues/english/D5_BITURBO_F1x_Englisch.pdf But I noticed that there isn't any part for the NSR Shock Absorber? Are the same as the front ones or am I missin...

Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

Hi all, Hope you don't mind me asking but how much were the D5 springs in the end? Currently my D5 is out of action after the rear differential decided to destroy itself but with 110,000 miles I imagine it won't be long before I'm trying to source some springs too. Thom Sorry Thom, I didn't notice ...

Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

More bad news. Just been for it's MOT and my D5 needs a new NSR shock absorber? Anyone know the part number? I've had a look at the sticky but can't find a parts catalogue for the F10-D5. And some new PS4s which have shot up in price as well. I bought a new pair 2 years ago for £465 fitted. Now chea...

BMW Alpina D5 for sale

I'm selling my 2013 BMW Alpina D5. I have owned this car for 2 and 1/2 years and it's never missed a beat. It had a FSH with Sytner and I had it serviced when I purchased it from my mechanic whose a BMW specialist and fanboy (Autotech) as it hadn't been on the road for 3 years as it was in probate w...

Help - Selling my Alpina D5

Hi everyone, I've decided I'm selling my beloved Alpina D5. I love the car but as I work from home, I hardly use it and the missus uses it more than me. However, I'm not 100% sure what to do here, so any advice would be appreciated. The ZF unit in my car has never been serviced and I was on the verg...

Autoweek - BMW M3 Touring vs. Alpina B3 Touring - Camparison

Here is the first proper comparison between a M3 Touring and a B3 Touring.

It's in Dutch but you can put on the Subtitles/Closed Caption to translate to English.

Re: Jayemm Alpina video.

I was about to post this video but you beat me to it. He's asking for other Alpina owners to contact him. I've offered him my D5 when its repaired although I don't think he would be interested as he's driven this XD3 and a D3 with the same power plant as my D5. It would be good if any Alpina petrol ...

Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

I had to wait 8 weeks for a pair of front springs for my F11 D5. I was initially told 3 to 4 weeks. After 7 weeks I contacted Alpina dealers worldwide trying to track down a pair of springs. Frank from FMW Tuning in Germany emailed straight back to say he had called Alpina and confirmed that parts ...

Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

Having just had the same issue, the parts are Alpina specific. Mine took 5 weeks to come. You need to supply both chassis numbers, the 3 options in the parts diagram are not the current numbers, neither was the number which Alpina gave me. My numbers are, 6 797 779, maybe the BMW number? 33 53 644e...

Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!

Hi All, hope someone can help or point me in the right direction. My car D5 (f10) has a cracked coil spring on the NSR. I've contacted a BMW specialist in Derby (G-Tech Motorworks) and they have said its going to take 5-6 weeks to order it from Sytner. Does anyone know if this is an Alpina specific ...

Re: Her indoors has damaged my Alpina - Advice needed.

I've booked it into Sytner this afternoon for a quote. I've just had a local body shop look at it. He reckons it will need a new bumper and splitter. The wing looks like it's moved a few millimetres towards the door but it might pop back when they take the bumper and splitter off. Thankfully my no c...
