Re: Wanted. B3 or b5 touring

Sytner currently have four B5 tourings for sale - all in the £60k - £70k range.

I am not sure when you say blue or green, if you are only considering Alpina blue and green. They have a LCI in Alpina blue (but no sunroof), as well as pre LCI, a Bluestone, a Grigio Medio and a Rhodonite silver.I had ...

D3S #506

I love this combination - I think the epic San Remo paint must have been a special order colour and the 19” wheels look so much better that bit darker - with the Tartufo interior it just looks like it means business in a no nonsense style. £67,000 makes me wince when I think what I sold D5S #250 for ...

B3 GT #256

I was going to suggest this looked a little punchy up for basically the same as the list price when registered in March, but now over 7 months old and with 4000 miles on. However, it’s been reserved after 24 hours so what do I know! I cannot fathom how that these can originally be £100k plus without ...

Re: Winters / All Seasons

Thank you, Charles, I will see what’s lurking in the lavalina handbook wallet in the glovebox when the car is back early next week when I will be fitting the new wheel centres.
Reassured by the excellent Harrison tyres in Clitheroe - they say they have no issues fitting them and, on the rear wheels ...

Re: Winters / All Seasons

I ordered a set of the 255/35 R20 97 Y XL CrossClimate 3 from Oponeo for £920 delivered.
Just had a call from the chaps re-refurbing my wheels saying they don't want to fit the rears as forcing them on could damage the wheels and that they should be 285/35. I explained that on the door panel it ...

Re: 2023 B3 Touring for sale

It is still on, or back on Autotrader for £76k - but #577 is also on with James Paul for £6k less - a few more miles and a tad older Alpina Green but has the full Ivory merino and nappa dash which (I think) makes for a much more expensive feeling driving environment. Also has the bonus of chrome ...

Re: Excellent service from Alloy Wheels Direct

That may simply be because of the greater sidewall height of the tyre, 12-13mm on the front 19’ wheels, protecting the actual wheel rather than the intrinsic strength of the wheel itself, but I am no engineer! I can only share my experience, but in theory, a lighter, stronger forged wheel would be ...

Re: Excellent service from Alloy Wheels Direct

The valve is on the rim on the 19s - MattOz has a set for sale below and you could actually see them on the configurator which was an odd detail when the configurator was otherwise so limited!
I have recently bought a new set of genuine Alpina centre caps from Alloy Wheels Direct and they are just ...

Re: Winters / All Seasons

That’s really helpful, thank you. Seems a decent price too - I wonder if they are more prone to kerbing at the rear with the wider alloy wheel/narrower tyre.
Hopefully the extra 3mm of sidewall will improve the rear ride quality!

Re: Rattling centre cap advice

Thank you Charles for the explanation - I have tried on one new one and moved (bent) the locating tab to get that in the correct position no problem. But the opposite side also needs corresponding tightening (somehow) to get that to tighten on to the wheel too in the same way, as it’s slacker now ...
