Re: Parts delays

I've just been quoted 6 - 8 weeks for rear springs on an F32 D4 by my local indie, and had the same for Front discs and also springs in the last year - springs via a Sytner dealership...

Re: what low profile ramps?

After thinking these metal ramp extensions wouldn't go low enough, I got these plastic things and to be honest I wasn't that confident that they took the weight. Back to end on scaffold boards I think.

Re: E85 Roadster S

Also check the earth strap between the engine block and the vehicle body. My 2004 E63 (not an Alpina though) was first diagniosed with a faulity Alternater and it turned out to be the main engine earth.

Re: Space saver wheel

Apologies, I'd formatted the links incorrectly, What's left up there should be correct. You'll have to call Alloy Wheels Direct, they aren't showing a space saver for an F32 at the moment. I'm sure there are other places only a google away but he came well recommended and I found his servce excellen...

Thanks for organising. There were some great looking Alpinas there and I hope everyone had a great time.

Re: Alpina Factory Tour

This is well worth a watch, a good hour in the factory and some chat about their future. I hate to think what a factory restoration would cost though.

3rd Party Warranties

I've just had the quote for renewal of the AUC warranty and it is an eye watering £3k for the year. Motor Easy are around £800 for what seems a near equivalent offer. Does anyone have any experience of Motor Easy warranties? The car is a shade under 80,000 miles and full service history, although no...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

Two new rear tyres (supplied and fitted by https://www.dtmtyres.co.uk/ who deserve a mention). £300 each, but they've lasted 31,000 miles so I'll take that.

Either that or I really should try harder...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

I got the EGR recall done at Sytner Tring. Totally painless and in and out in 4 hours. I say painless, discovering a leaking shock on their free wallet weigh-in was a bit painful.

Re: COFFEE RUN BICESTER HERITAGE: SATURDAY 20 MAY

Hate to think what he'd have made of my D4 then. Mind you they probably couldn't find it for all the Porsche's, I've never seen so many in one place!

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

I had my D4 into our local BMW dealership to sort the EGR recall. It took a week! After the work was completed, the car failed the post modification pressure check. They used a second part and it failed again. They then ordered the part from Alpina.... a few days later the part arrives, and it too ...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

Changed the oil & filters on my F32 D4. I've changed jobs so it isn't getting the miles it used to and I don't like leaving it over a year. Changing the cabin filter was the usual "I need to do more yoga moment", why they have to be under the glove box I do not know. Heart stopping moment when the a...

Re: D4 F32 Brake pad part number

I'm sure you're not wrong but as this indie could have had £1k out of me on another car (what he'd quoted another gargae to fix what they told him the problem was) but only charged me the £120 it actually cost, I'll take his word for it in this instance. Your mileage may vary of course, that's the j...

Re: D4 F32 Brake pad part number

Just to update on this so people have an idea on current lead times, the OEM pads were ordered by my indie on 19 November, they arrived last week and were fitted today. Annoyingly I didn't really expect this to be this long so probably have a red overdue indicator on the service record; I'd say book...
