Re: RIP D3 no 317
So far I've spent almost 1000 on transporting the vehicle between garages and diagnostics and no where else wanted the job. Inspite of how much I love the car I'm running out of time and money. I've been offered 4000 on ebay and will probably take that. Truly heart braking.

Re: RIP D3 no 317
Seems the injectors all nee replacing as they have been damaged and both fuel pumps have metal filings in them. He thinks the engine needs to come out to replace the fuel pump. The fuel tank needs to be removed and cleaned out. And so on. I don't think the D3, much as I love it, is ever going to inc...

RIP D3 no 317
So, following the breakdown saga it appears that this is the bitter end of my D3. I've just heard back from the garage and the fuel pump has broken and looks to be too expensive to repair. Between 4000 and 7000 is the estimate. My question is do I sell it as a whole car or break it for parts? What w...

Re: D3 BT high pressure fuel pump
So.... the saga continues. The current garage have said the fuel pump is the problem. Seems no one wants the job either. A diesel specialist has quoted 1200 to change the pump inc VAT and labour. He has however said there is a chance that the fuel pump has broken up inside ad if so it will need new ...

Re: D3 BT high pressure fuel pump
Its the first time I've regretted buying it in 3 years!
Sadly both of those places are too far away. I'm in the Midlands.

Re: D3 BT high pressure fuel pump
So, the garage are trying a solenoid, failing that it's the high pressure fuel pump which they won't do. Tried my local indy, he won't do it either and have recommended a diesel specialist in Swadlincote.
Anyone any experience having a high pressure fuel pump replaced?

D3 BiTurbo ECU
So looks like my low fuel pressure issue may be down to an ECU problem. The garage have said there loos like some overheating marks on one of the main chips and it struggles to communicate with the computers, which the RAC also mentioned. He seems to think the ECU is fairly generic to BMW and then g...

Re: D3 BT high pressure fuel pump
Well I've answered one of my questions; it managed a mile and had to get the garage to fetch it. And I'm sure they'll answer the other on in due course!!

D3 BT high pressure fuel pump
Broke down last night and the RAC diagnosed "low fuel pressure. 75bar on crank only. 250 required to start. suspect hp fuel pump" He got me going by squirting sure start into the air system MAF area which worked as once it started the car ran fine. I'm going to try to get it booked in somewhere to g...

Has anyone any experience of the Bilstein B4 vs B6 shocks? B4 seem to be OEM replacement and B6 an upgrade.

D3 Bi-Turbo
I have a D3 Bi-Turbo Which has just started to tell me it has low oil and needs topping up. I've checked the dipstick and it is almost at max?
Any one had similar experience?
Only thing I can find online is for models with no dipstick?
