Will find out Wednesday - garage is doing it for me and quote was reasonable. They are a bmw specialist so hopefully know what they are in for. They did say most people just cut the old ones off.
If this is such a pain, is there anything else worth replacing while they are doing this?

Thank you for the replies. Have ordered some replacements as would like to keep car to original spec and anything that keeps dirt / heat away from the suspension can’t be a bad thing surely?

Hi.
The front brake dust shields on the B10 are starting to rattle. My local garage advised that while they can replace them most owners of e39 they see simply remove them and do not replace.

Anyone here have any advice?

Agree - couldn’t square away selling in my 530d touring (with high spec, electric tow bar and rails) for #048. Was also surprised that it’s had 4 owners - any on here? Maybe 530 family wagon with a level of performance and the B10 in the garage for when bikes and dog are not needed is a pretty good ...

Ok so ignoring my roof rail issue, the price seems high compared to others that have sold, it being 4 owners and struggling to sell over the last 15 months. Spec is ok but doesn’t have much over normal - except sun roof but no comfort seats etc.
