Re: Steve's old B5S

I think this car is in Walker's Autotech (near Billingshurst) at the moment. I picked mine up last Friday (new shocks etc) and Andy showed me a silver B5. I hadn't clocked this thread until now to make a confirmed ID but it is almost certainly this car, particularly given that Andy said a dealer had...

Hello!!!

Its been a while since I last posted. What with Covid and all that there hadn't been a great deal of driving until recently where I managed a run down to the Cotswolds. More trips coming up in the weeks to come including jaunts to Leeds, Dartmoor and the New Forest. The B6 had a service and the whee...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

Looking good there Phil. Meanwhile, today, and sadly no pictures, I was shat upon by a teradactyl. The sound of the impact was remarkable. It was, best described as a huge slap. Driver’s side window, front lumbar support, seat belt, seat belt guide, rear window and crevice. Lovely. Took a while to...

Re: The forum is back, and so is the B6

After much discussion I decided to go through official channels for the supercharger. I could have sourced a new supercharger from the continent but ultimately decided to go via the proper channels, Sytner confirmed the part number, and it was ordered by Walkers via Vines BMW. Cost, approximately £...

Re: The forum is back, and so is the B6

60K mileage. Given the car is thirteen years old but in super condition it is worth keeping it that way. The early onset of corrosion has been nipped in the bud and now that all has been remedied as it should be, the car should be good on that front for another thirteen years. The supercharger chang...

Re: Ideal tyres for E46 B3 ?

PS4.

In years gone by I had an E46 M3 (owned that for twelve or so years!) and the Pilot Sports were the natural tyre for the car.

The forum is back, and so is the B6

On the same day!

New discs, pads and pipes.

Bushes.

Lower oil sump.

Sub frame tidied up (evidence of early onset of rust) and fresh protection from the ravages of the world.

Oh, gulp, and in the end we decided on a new supercharger.

Good to be back!

its more a case of what you want to pay.. you could get estimates ranging from 1-5k but depends on quality of work and finish you seek i would not want to spend less than 3-4k retail on what you describe or likely around 2k trade price to achieve a reasonable finish call around your local bodyshops...

I have a '98 Jaguar XK8 (Mrs C's preferred car). Whilst the car is mechanically sound it is tired. The car is going into a Jag specialist next week for some work - seat motor/module, windows motor/regulators, air con howl, centre console lights, rear view mirror! Once that is all sorted out there ar...

The brakes work!

It seems silly, but I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I have had to do an emergency stop. Well, today I had an absolute need to do so. Thankfully I was observing the speed limit and was trundling along at 30 mph when an oncoming car decided to turn right immediately in front...
