Just for the record, all BMW's have a tracker, that's how the SOS button, and the concierge service works, but you have to give permission for BMW to switch it on so the police can track it. I had to sign a form when my M235i was stolen last year (but they were after the D4 parked next to it). It wa...

D3/B3 in Guernsey

I have not spotted another Alpina since having to sell my D4 last December, and then see a D3/B3 in Guernsey of all places (max 35mph speed limit), on a local plate. Anyone on here?
God, I miss my Alpina

New B5 & D5

Hi all
Did anyone else get the letter from Alpina about the new B5 and D5?

B5 - 4 wheel drive - 4 wheel steering - 0-60 3.5s

D5 - Only 10bhp less than M5 with performance pack

All sounds very expensive, but wow!!

Had my first service yesterday (basically oil change and micro filter) after 13 months and 20K miles. The £293 might not have been too bad if I didn't need 2 rear tyres. I thought the days of £300+ tyres was over when I sold the X6, but no, £525 plus VAT for the pair. Fortunately Wollaston BMW in...

I'm just outside Northampton, but it wasn't me either as I have a D4.

Did get a lot of attention at the Dragon Boat event at Billing on Sunday, from the owners of the many Vauxhalls displaying their pride and joys

Another 2 in a Day

You go months without seeing another Alpina, then suddenly, like busses, you see 2 in a day.

First, a D5 in Park and Ride at JLR Halewood Plant.

Second, a D5 Touring on M6 Toll heading South, around 16:30

Anyone from here??

She finally gets it

Hi all I have had the D4 since just before Christmas, and although the wife loves the car she has not really got what they (Alpina's) are all about, that is until last Friday. We were just getting out of the car in Waitrose car park when a Mercedes stopped next to us, wound down the window and said ...

Blue Touring near Northampton

Spotted Saturday 5th March, blue Touring with white lettering on front spoiler, driving through Kingsthorpe, towards Northampton at 3.30pm.
Anyone from on here?

The D4 is the one which was in the showroom for some time, and is the one Gary tried to get me to buy, but as I already have an Estoril blue 2 series I did not want it to look like "Father and Son" on the driveway, and to be honest I thought it was a little under specified. When I went to finalise t...

Sport mode question

As this is the first car I have had which shows which gear you are in, eg D8, rather than just D for Drive, I have never noticed this before in Sport mode. If I press the selector button to get Sport mode, the display screen shows the picture of the car, and Sport. Also the gear display shows Sport....

Thanks Charles.
I cannot see anything different, but what makes it worse is my phone works perfectly in our other BMW, and works sometimes in the Alpina.
Hopefully I will get to the bottom of it one day.

Bluetooth dilemma

I have a strange Bluetooth problem, which hopefully someone can throw some light on. When I connect my mobile phone to the system everything is fine for 2 minutes, then the idrive shuts down and restarts. It will be fine for another 2 minutes, and then repeat the process. It does this 5 times, after...

Drove it 40 miles to work, and looking forward to the drive home.

Great believer in buying a car for driving, especially when they drive like this :D

Spotted in Creaton

Spotted a very new looking, Blue B3/D3 (only saw side view, but wheels a dead giveaway), turning right out of Creaton, onto Welford Road, at 16:05 yesterday (Thursday). Didn't stop to say hello as I was in the M235i.
Anyone on here?
