Re: E93 B3S buying advice please
That's some serious bad luck there! I thought the HPFP issue was resolved by 2010? Are the LCI cars affected by the issues you mention? I guess with such a small sample size it's hard to know for sure. Indeed numbers are small, but as the S version still uses the N54 engine, they are prone to these...

Re: E93 B3S buying advice please
Budget around 10k for everything that will break down when the miles get a bit higher.. They all have the same issues between 50-80k. What will go inevitably: - electric water pump - injectors - high pressure fuel pump - both turbo’s - vacuum hoses - turbo pressure regulators - plastic intake tube -...

Re: Powder coating
I just scrubbed it off and repainted with high temp paint from a rattle can. Is holding up nicely. As always, when you do it yourself: it's all in the prep work. When you have it sandblasted I would thoroughly have it cleaned before putting back onto the engine. You don't want blasting grit sucked i...

Re: Steering Wheel refurb - Royal not available
I paid €955/£900 for reupholstering my steering wheel at Alpina, including +2 mm and a new lavalina cover for the spokes..
Looks fabulous though..
So, £310 is relatively cheap..

Re: Movement
For me the term 'movement' is not clear enough. Also, only on heavy braking? Or randomly after heavy braking? What sound does it make?
There is a difference between 'on' and 'after' AFAIK..
So, a bit more clarification would come in handy!

You can paint the inside of the pipes black with high temp paint, then they at least look the same.

Re: Centre Cap Problem
If this is on a pre-facelift car with the old style wheels you really have to sand down the opening for the caps.
I squeezed them in with some vaseline only to find after 3 months that all the silver paint had disappeared from the plastic caps..

Adwo

B3, K2 = 360 hp, B3 S K3 = 400 bhp. Other airbox, no auxillary cats, bit more torque. Both based on N54

Re: D10 Bi Turbo No 88
I would steer clear of the D10. They all break down and are horrendously expensive to repair, especially the injectors.
Nobody wants them on the mainland..

Re: E46 B3 ABS/wheel speed sensor help
For future reference: when in doubt which ABS sensors you need you can just check the size of the rear brake rotors.
The 330i discs are 320 mm versus 294 mm for the 328i based cars.
HTH,
Adwo

Re: E46 B3 ABS/wheel speed sensor help
If your car is based on the 330i you need these ABS sensors because the 330i uses different trailing arms from the 328i based Alpina 3.3. I hope the part number is correct as this is listed as being valid from 09.2000 till 09.2001 build dates.. ETK is not really clear, but looks like 34526752702 aft...

Re: E46 B3 3.3 - Catalytic converters
They are Alpina specific, made by Boysen. They very rarely break as they are the metal versions. You could have someone weld in new cats in the existing pipes. I would seriously consider that as I fear the original ones are really expensive.. They do make some strange noises right after start up as ...
