Re: E46 B3 3.3 Touring No.89

It looks much better without those wide stripes. Even better if it had silver on the front spoiler instead of the gold. I am very tempted, but having the E36 wagon already in Orient blue it may not be a good idea. Maybe I will have to have a chat with myself as I am looking for a replacement daily f...

Re: ChipEx - stone chip kit experiences?

We used one of these kits when we bought our E36 Touring 5 years ago. The whole front of the car had a very serious case of road rash obtained after spending 4 years in South Africa. People said the only way was to repaint the complete front of the car. We spent a complete weekend using a ChipEx kit...

I am pleased to see the car has finally found a new home, with someone who will care for it. I did try and buy the car myself, but the guy I was dealing with gave me the impression that he did not care if it sold or not! He certainly new nothing about the Alpina brand, or Alpino as he kept calling i...

I've also had 2 inspiring young footballer types turn up to my house at around 9:30pm with an Asda bag full of money hoping to buy a car I had for sale. They needed the car asap to pick up an uncle who was flying back from abroad the next morning. Sad thing is that there will be people out there th...

Did anyone buy this touring in the end? I am not sure. Probably not, because when I last spoke with the guy regarding my interest he said that he would email me some paperwork. But he never did. The feeling that I got through talking with him on the phone was that he was not really bothered if it s...

Terry, when it's finished, as Martin is scared you can step in and test it for him! Something to look forward to, chin up mate! I would have no problem with driving the car Dave. 😃 But as Martin is footing the bill for this one it will be his call if the car is moved on. Here is a recent pi...

Sounds like my E30 Terry, sometimes its the only way. I drive mine a fook it, why do all that work and let someone else benefit? Makes me twitch at the thought! Exactly what I told Martin myself Simon. Why do all that work for somone else's benefit. But the car was never bought to be a "trailer que...

The Elekta is looking mighty fine Dave. I love the BRG coachwork 😀 Unfortunately the M3 is not in such fine fettle. What started as a partial restoration turned into a full blown bare metal nut and bolt rebuild. A lot more rust was found than we first thought. Lots of new or fabricated panel...

I am not sure how to copy links on my phone. But if you take a look at the Alpina Car Care/Detailing section of the forum Dec 15th 2015 you will see a thread titled "Getting striped up" In that thread you find pictures of what we had done to the interior. It did need some attention when we bought i...

As he never emailed me copies of the paperwork that he promised I got the impression he was not that bothered about selling the car. Therfore I should imagine it is still for sale. Don't take it personally. He's failed to respond to several genuine enquiries. It'll probably appear again in 6 months...

Sure we'll find out in due course. #66's interior is a thing of beauty 8) Didn't realise it's whereabouts were know as i couldn't see it listed on the register. As he never emailed me copies of the paperwork that he promised I got the impression he was not that bothered about selling the car. Therf...

Anyone know if this has now sold? The AT ad has disappeared although it's still on Car & Classic. I did also find this old link to #66 which appears to have been for sale back in 2015 https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1997-bmw-e36-b3-3-2-alpina-touring Not sure if it sold or not. I did show inte...
