Re: F11 Alpina Ride Height Data?

In contrast to BMW and Alpina, Porsche quote the ride height as being the distance from a flat/horizontal surface to specific bolts on the front and rear subframes (left to right should be the same). Granted its a bit of a faff to measure, but it negates different wheel/tyre sizes (as all should ult...

Re: F11 Alpina Ride Height Data?

Typically measurements that use the wheel arch as the upper reference will uses the lowest edge of the wheel for the lower reference - this negates incorrect tyre inflation. Measurements must be taken on a flat and horizontal surface. With coil-over suspension, one can vary the ride height at each c...

Re: Alpina D3/B3 G20 Kidney Grill vs BMW M3 G20 Kidney Grill

As it happens, the only niggle I have with my car at all is wind whistle, sounding like it’s coming from the level of the rear view mirror, above about 60mph. The G21s I've driven have been very quite into three figures. All had the spoiler ahead of the pano-roof. Guess one could have it retro fitt...

Re: A-Plan Insurance - Scheme for Members!

A-Plan Thatcham have come up with a competitive quotation for a multicar policy (Alpina D3S Touring, Subaru Forester, SEAT Arona). The underwriters insist upon a Cat 5 tracker for the Alpina (so I'll likely go with the BMW Trackstar from Sytner ahead of collection). I'm dealing with Gareth Bown - in...

Re: Rear mud flaps

My F30 #232 is an LCi and has a mud flap/ rear deflector already fitted. Not the biggest by any stretch of the imagination. They might be for something totally different? Anyone who can enlighten me ?? These spats are to do with bodywork needing to be a certain size with respect to wheels width siz...

Re: Who Should Advise UK Insurers About Alpinas?

From the FAQ section of the Alpina UK wbesite ... Do I have to insure my BMW ALPINA on the basis of official motor vehicle insurance categories as used by the German insurance industry? Who Should Advise UK Insurers About Alpinas?

Who should actually advise UK Insurers (or the fedration etc) about Alpina cars and models? Is this the responsibility of Alpina UK / Sytner? I'm trying to understand why some models are readlily recognised by the vast majority of online insures and yet others are not. A point in case is the F3x D3 ...

Re: B3 no. 200 collected yesterday

I’ve got a long trip coming up soon, so I’ll get the car set up properly during that. You might want to start by disabling the steering intervention. (Blame NCAP/EU). Caught me out when test driving B3 & D3S. Read here: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1755297&page=5 Yours being n...

Re: B3 no. 200 collected yesterday

That looks great. I think you might be the first G2x owner, here on the forum, with Dynamics.

Be interested to know if Alpina specify two sets of tyres pressures for the 19s, as they do the 20s. Comfort pressures for sub-155mph use and standard pressures for up to v-max.

More pictures please.

Re: B5 G31 Discs and Pads

The BMW part number you quote are correct.

Brake disc left 395x36
34 11 6 887 397

Brake disc right 395x36
34 10 6 887 398

The Alipna G3x B5 parts catalogue incorrectly cites 34 11 6 887 398 for the right disc.

Off-side front tyre looks flat too...
I think that is the least of it's worries! Other pics do show it fully inflated so I think it is nothing too serious.
My sarcastic side Bob.
