Re: The real difference between M and Alpina…?
Whenever I've been asked about the difference between the two, I've explained it as follows...
Having an Alpina is like being a member of White's whereas ownership of an ///M is akin to being a regular at Stringfellows...

Welcome to Gaydon and the BMWCCGB Meet... Ah! an Alpina...
You just need to turn around and head South on the M40, you'll find the Alpina section in the car park of the McDonalds on the outskirts of Banbury... toodle pip!

Re: RBM Hampshire
Lots of people on Z4-Forum have used RBM with plenty of positive feedback - Ross, the owner, is a member on there (bowser134) and IIRC he worked for Sytner for about 15 years prior to setting up RBM

Re: Is this the beginning of the end for Diesel cars.
Listening to various reports this morning that the latest budget will propose a 15% increase in Diesel Fuel with VAT on top so more like 25%. Which would mean diesel would be around £2,20 per litre. The proposal in the OBR Report on Fiscal Responsibility was for a 23% increase in fuel duty which eq...

Re: Alloys sticking to hubs
On all my cars I've always used a smear of copper grease (no particular brand) over the hub surface before refitting the wheels and never had a problem with seizing.

Re: Chemistry question!
If you really want metal caps (and you hunt around a bit), you can get metal caps with a plastic liner that avoids the corrosion problems

Alpina C2 2.5 on Wheeler Dealers
Season 17 Episode 11 - Escort XR3i Cabriolet
Section at the end filmed at Canary Wharf, one of the cars was a Black C2 2.5 Cab - reg G831 CLF
Think the owner's name was Phil (anyone on here?), he said he's had it for 13 years
Looked very nice

Re: Waterless Cleaning Systems
I've used ONR (Optimum No Rinse) to good effect when I've had no other way to wash the car before a show.

Re: This is getting ridiculous!
....a sign of my age I guess but I remember when prices first hit a£1 a litre!! It was 46.9p/litre when I passed my test in '95 - good old days! Makes me feel old, I passed my bike test in 1978 and my car test in 1981 - petrol wasn't priced per Litre then, but I think it was about 75p/gal for...

Re: Ordering a New D5
Another thing worth remembering is the new shape D5 will come with the mandatory GPS tracked speed limiter    - if you enjoy using the torque, probs best to get a current model or your enjoyment will be limited to very short bursts... The fitment of ISA will be mandatory for EU ve...

Re: This is getting ridiculous!
I need to fill the mower fuel can up as well - that's going to be painful, as they recommend putting E5 Super in lawn mowers :doh Unless you're using large amounts in your garden tools the cost difference should be small - if you do use lots, and the mower isn't ancient, E10 should be fine if you a...
