Re: B10 V8 gearbox problem

Gearbox out after an afternoon under the car. Not a pleasant job as the top bolts are a pain to get out, access is tight. Need to replace all the bolts to hold the manifold to the exhaust as had to chop them all. The back gearbox mount bushes were also separated as well so thaqt won't help either. ...

Re: Damaged locking wheel nut

Good news for me, McGard have a simple order process for replacement locking 'keys' on their website: https://shop.mcgard.de/customer-key/ the order process is done through their german site but is quick enough and I got my replacement in 7 days. I guess if I'd given it some thought I might not have...

Re: B10 V8, No. 388

 Hah! Maybe the timing chain/guides and coolant system gods will smile down on me....there again... :boohoo Am I correct in thinking that as this is the older design 4.6 it either doesn't have vanos or it has the older simpler (less borky) version? I may of course be completely wrong for only ...

Re: B10 V8s illuminated door sills

Following on from Derek's post I ordered one of the items he highlighted and it did indeed arrive with a very dodgy inverter that I couldn't get to power the tape at all, however after searching for a similar product I came across the same product that I'd been discussing with Light Tape UK but at a...

Re: Damaged locking wheel nut

I've just trawled through all the paperwork and receipts I have for the car (it's a box worth and I should probably improve my filing) and I'm delighted to say I've found the original McGard document with what looks like a code for the key type so hopefully I can order a replacement from them, I'll ...

Something of a "last resort" method but it has worked for me before!
Thanks Marc, that does indeed sound desperate but we shall see!

Thanks Perry, they were probably on the car from new in 2001 but I guess if I go to BMW they can either help or be discounted.

Damaged locking wheel nut

I've got a set of locking wheel nuts on the car and stupidly I let the 'key' slip while tightening one yesterday and have managed to damage the key. I think they might be Mcgard but were on the car when I bought it so not 100% sure. I now have 3 fully tightened bolts and the 4th was screwed in but n...
