E93 B3 Bi turbo 2008 cabriolet

I should have notified the forum that I sold this car in November 2016 to a dealer in Reading. Is it possible to remove my details pertaining to this car from the forum? And a belated!!! thank you to all who provided advice, assistance etc during my 5 years of ownership. I am now driving an X1 which...

2008 B3 bi-turbo cabriolet

Just wondering whether any forum member has bought my car that I recently sold to Uber GT in Reading? This was in Nov and it no longer appears on their website.
I'd be happy to answer any questions. I love my new X1--it's no Alpina but a lovely car nevertheless!
Best wishes to all for 2017.

Thanks for the photo tip, Toasey. Downloaded GIMP but it won't open. Any ideas?
B10BRW: thanks for the message. I'll avoid the Alpina temptation in case it changes my mind!

So it's goodbye from me

After 5 years, I have finally parted company with my 2008 B3 cabriolet. I enjoyed every minute of ownership--even with the occasional problem. I've now got a new model X1 2.0 petrol auto with better satnav and a panoramic glass roof (that helps with loss of the cabrio tintop). Not exactly an age thi...

No "other half" to influence me!! All my own work. Another Alpina was simply beyond my budget and in any case, I don't want a diesel. I am sure I made the right decision as I am looking at practicality, 3 year warranty plus a service plan. I've had a Boxster then the B3, for great motoring. The new ...

Thanks Metrics. Yes it is now at Uber GT--very helpful except for knocking off money for chip repairs which were minimal esp considering the car was 8 years old and I had looked after it in every way. I WAS going to buy a 2013 M5 but realised it was far more than I needed (I never used the B3 to its...

I was prepared to put more detail in if anyone had asked--some details exist on forum. I knew it was not the best time and wanted a new car anyway. There was plenty of detail on the Pistonheads advert.
Thanks for the comment--appreciated.

It was titanium silver with black upholstery. Spec'd as 335i and finished by Alpina. 2979cc B3 bi-turbo auto etc. No responses from forum members and minimal interest on Pistonheads. I sold it to a specialist company in Reading as I needed to order my new non-Alpina BMW. Hope this gives you an idea....

Brian, I had a a major problem (succesfully resolved) with my B3 metal-roofed cabrio. I presume yours is a fabric roof so may be different. You have my number so would be happy to talk it through.

I posted details on the general forum re this sale. Should it be under the "for sale" section and if so, can it be moved there by the moderators? I ma not familiar with the procedures.

2008 B3 bi-turbo cabriolet possible sale

I am in the early phases of considering selling my car. Is there anyone on the forum who might be interested? I have the full history available. It has done 56000 miles and I have owned it since 2011. I believe mileage and condition warrants a price around £19000 as a private sale. Only reason for ...

Surprising wear on insides of rear tyres

I replaced the 2 rear tyres on my B3 Biturbo cabriolet last week after some 18000 miles. The fitters showed me the extreme wear on the inner shoulders of the tyres, where the canvas was visible. I was told this was a common problem with BMW's due to the camber of the rear tyres. Fortunately, tread w...

engine management light

Travelling at speed, this light comes on from time to time, stating "full power not available" Stopping, switching engine off then restarting, it goes away but sometimes shows up again on the same journey. Independent garage analysis shows "2A 87 Vanos outlet:mechanical" and "3100 charging pressure ...
