Re: ULEZ - older ALPINAs

I now have a dilemma pay for the emission certificates for both of my cars or buy something older than 40 years of age like this ... One trip in one of those and you'll be paying the money for an emissions confirmation! 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously though, I completely agree that it's a pain having to go through ...

Re: ULEZ - older ALPINAs

Invoice received by email within 48 hrs of providing details - paid immediately (€73.03) - now waiting for my letter.

Let's hope the exemption process with TfL and Bristol City Council is as straightforward.

But why can't there be a single place to apply for all the UK Clean Air Zones?

Re: ULEZ - older ALPINAs

can i be cheeky and ask you for the text you sent in your email to them? No problem! They will want your full WAP... VIN to be able to do this. In my case, I first asked them to confirm the emissions level for NOx for my car. Then, when they confirmed it was below 0.08 g/km, I informed them that I ...

Re: ULEZ - older ALPINAs

But if you have the V5 modified with the emissions and own certification from Alpina, is that not going to change the taxation class so then based on emissions rather than the general PLG rate? The V5 is not modified - instead you simply apply for exemption in each zone you want to, with proof of N...

Re: e46 cooling system issues dash light intermittently on

expansion tank split new tank and thermostat to be fitted - glad nothing more sinister Glad that you've found the problem and it isn't too major - this is a predictable failure for the E46. You might consider replacing the hoses at the same time - whilst the system is drained down and access is eas...

Re: ULEZ - older ALPINAs

Good news! Alpina have just confirmed that the NOx emissions for my E46 B3S Touring (3.4) are 0.076 g/km. This is below the Euro4 threshold of 0.080 g/km Therefore, armed with an official "Emissions confirmation" from Alpina, I can now apply for ULEZ exemption for London and Bristol. I cannot commen...

Hi

If you e-mail Alpina "classic@alpina.de" they should tell you the NOx emissions of your car before you pay 60 Euro's for the certificate.

Cheers
Thanks Jamie

I've done just that but am still waiting, two weeks later, for any form of response!

I'm sure they are busy ...

Re: B3 Biturbo E92

I found the Classics do have rattling centre covers, it’s always a problem that happens again and again ... Foam pads are not the answer - they just cushion the cap on the wheel to protect paint damage once the fit is correct. Instead, try adjusting the L-shaped piece on the back of the cover to ti...

Charles As a new user do I need a certain number of posts to send a pm? I have tried to pm a user in regards to a for sale post but it just sits in my outbox. I have also tried messaging you directly regarding this but the same thing happens. Hi Nick, You can send PMs straight away. However, the wa...

Re: e46 cooling system issues dash light intermittently on

Some thoughts ... If the coolant was changed two months ago then it is unlikely to be due to airlocks if you've been using the car regularly. If there is air in the heater matrix then you will struggle to get hot air blowing so this is easy to check, as well as checking coolant level (which you have...

Is it foolish to assume that if the 3.3 meets the standard then surely the 3.4 will too (I would expect it would)
Given that the 3.3 is 0.059g/km for NOx then I expect the 3.4 to be very slightly higher but still below 0.08g/km, which would make it exempt too.

Re: Key issues

I'll have a go. The remote keys contain a transponder that talks to the immobiliser, but the service and wallet key don't - hence why the latter will open the car and engage the ignition but not start the car or disarm the alarm. As for the non-functioning remote key, it may be that it needs coding ...
