Re: Cold Start Up Problem and Cog of Death - Alpina E46 B3.3 2002
When I've experienced it in the past, slow start-up was linked to an old battery which wasn't generating enough "oomph" but you appear to have addressed that with a new one. Re: Battery issues
Like others, I can't help with the possible parasitic drain but a quick search on E46 forums points mostly at the Final Stage Resistor (FSR) which can cause battery drain as it starts to fail, as well as unusual behaviour of the heater fan. This is a common problem on the E46 but be warned as you ne...

Occasional spam posts
Apologies to those of you who caught sight of the spam post that appeared earlier - I've had a full teaching schedule today and only just came across it half an hour ago. I do try and weed out the more obvious applications to join but some will, occasionally, slip through. As always, please flag the...

Someone's going to have fun tracking down that water leak and sorting all those "little" jobs. I've seen several F 3 series convertibles (BMW not ALPINA - not that it makes a difference) where the lower drain holes have become blocked and the rear quarter panels fill up with water. Above a ...

Re: Gear Selector Light
Rav - just to clarify - is it the orange light on the centre console next to the gear lever or the display on the dash?

Re: FMW Tuning - BEWARE VAT issues
As a comparison, I wonder what the situation is when buying from AWD?
If I understand their corporate structure correctly, they buy in Germany through their German business, import "internally" and then sell in the UK through their UK business.
Does anyone have any recent experience post-Brexit?

Re: Gear Selector Light
Probably just a loose connection on the bulb. You can check this by lifting the trim around the gear selector.

Sorry guys, I know that this is a bmw forum, but always liked these better I think we're allowed on this Chit Chat forum  Absolutely no problem at all - particularly as I cut my motorsport teeth attending meetings in the 70s at Brands Hatch with my dear departed father who used to marshal the...

Re: F10 D5 BiTurbo - #137
One thing that I need to sort out ASAP is getting more alloy keys cut. I'm assuming I can get this cut in the usual way so heading down to Timpsons at some point (if I can find one that is open) to see if they can help. From my experience, Timpsons will say that their matching key will work but it ...

Re: B12 E38 5.7 #45 E-KAT
exactly theres no value in this car other than being able to of owned one and had the experience, as its got the full collection of what you don't want in an old car if you want it to be valuable Needs to be cheap and for someone who has skills to tinker it back. Otherwise its a mega money pit 100 ...
