E46 B3S - Engine cover, numbers gone....

Hi all, I'm in the process of bringing my B3s convertible back on the road after a few years in storeage. All very nearly there, just some minor detais. One of these is the 3.4 number that's usually on the engine cover. Sadly, mine's dropped off and if it ever was in the engine bay, it's probably so...

Re: E46 B3S Instruments all over the place and won't start

Hi Dave, Great post and my apologies for jumping in on this, as I to have the same problem on an E46 B3s instrument cluster. I had hoped that ATC Drivetrain were able to fix it, but received some bad news this morning that they're unable to repair it. They do not offer a donor/swapping service, so a...

Re: E46 Alpina B3s Cluster Repair

Hi all, Thanks for the replies. I did try a couple of those companies mentioned but never heard back. I'm therefore thinking I need a replacement so if anyone has one laying around on a shelf I would be very interested. I'll put it out on the parts needed page. My only other thought is to get a done...

E46 Alpina B3s Cluster Repair

Hi all,

My cluster instrument panel has failed. It has been sent to ECU Testing for repair and whilst they are able to power this up, they are unable to communicate with it and therefore repair it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on repair?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for your responses. @ Ali, thanks for the link, these look like I can blend the colour to ensure that I get a good match. I just need to be good at the blending. Maybe I'll have a practice first. @ B3S is yours a light grey? I'll put it in Google to see if I can buy it ready made. From memory...

What colour leather interior...

Hi all. Anyone know what the colour code is for the light grey leather in a 2003 B3s is? I'm thinking it's N6TT, but then I see M3 also had a light grey, N5TT. Being Alpina, I'm not sure what it is. Also, anyone can recommend a good quality leather restorer brand, that would be very much appreciated...

Thanks for this, and am reassured, i also did some further checks, but wanted to be sure.

On the rears, actually, i've already had them done a good few k miles back.

Was very surprised when they went, but it's the handbrake, at least i know why.

Many thanks for your comments.

Indie Car Mechanic near Potters Bar

Hey all.

So i have a great mechanic in Barking, but it is a real pain to get there.

Anyone recommend another one much nearer to me?

I'm very happy with my current mechanic, it's convenience i'm also looking for.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

BMW 2012 F10 - New discs at 29k miles

Hi all, just had a call from a main dealer where the car is in for an oil service. Front pads have 2mm left and my front discs have 20mm, and below the minimum 22.4mm. Understand about the pads, but is this right on the discs? I have my first set of discs on my alpina.... Thought i was in for a rela...

So.... Picked the car up Saturday morning.... part was Alpina spec, with bolt holes in slightly different positions, so it was £355 + vat for the part and £180 cash for the labour. Lucky me, got the only one in the UK so back on the road quick, just at a shocking price. Those cosmetic improvements...

Drivers side drive shaft required 2003 B3S

Hi all, Had a mighty bang the other evening, pulling away from the lights, and alas, my rear drivers side drive shaft is no more. According to my mechanic, it isn't standard BMW E46 spec, so no good looking on E Bay. Any help in finding a reconditioned one is appreciated. I am getting the price for ...

Thanks getting it priced up today for a replacement.

My B3S seems to have had all the standard/known faults that come with the car, so don't want to risk it going all together.

Be nice to be rattle free again

Fair comment, mine has lasted a long time, so a refurbed one should do the trick and last another 80k miles....

Just thinking of the components, but i guess it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for all your comments
