Hi Steve, Many thanks for the comments and i must admit that since I bought my beloved D3 BiTurbo she has always had many comments even to this day :D I am hoping to upgrade and buy a B3s next year and will probably go for exactly the same colour combo, i like it that much! The front grill in mine i...

Hi all, Although i do agree with some of the sentiments i personally have always loved the rich gloss black stripes on my D3 BiTurbo. I think this is due to the wheels, mirrors and front grills also being gloss black. http://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17808&highlight= You can see p...

Hi Stubert, I really don't think that the D3 brakes need upgrading as they are larger than the 320D items anyway. I have given mine some pretty harsh treatment and never had any overheat issues and certainly never felt that they needed to be upgraded. The reason I went for the grooved/dimpled Mtec o...

Hi Swannie, It should be on 330mm front discs and 336mm rears. I recently replaced mine with dimpled and grooved discs with red stuff pads from Mtec. Not expensive and they seem very good now I have bedded them in a little 330mm front discs BMW Part No: 34116854999 336mm rear discs BMW Part No: 3421...

Hi all, A little bit more info, which may help others. I need to replace my front shocks on the D3 as the front end is now VERY floaty. I contacted Sytners Nottingham for the part numbers and the prices for replacements. As others above have mentioned the shocks/dampers used are Bilstein items. I wa...

Hi All, Sorry for the very late reply here but I did have some issues getting back on the forum for a while. Anyway I managed to get the DMF and clutch changed although there were some issues. The first 3 DMF's supplied were the incorrect part and it wasn't until the 4th arrived that all was well an...

D3 BiTurbo DMF and Clutch

Hi and a VERY merry Christmas to you all, Well I have done it again and bizarrely enough I have just destroyed the clutch/DMF on the D3 BT on exactly the same road that I did the flex plate on the B3 years ago. Lots of vibration when driving and on tick-over and also difficult to get the car into 1s...

A nice upgrade :D I changed my standard bulbs to some Lux ones the day after i bought her as I took them out of the 320D coupe i was driving, a nice subtle change. Anyway I didn't have to take any wheel arch guards out etc and changed them via the access panel on the top of each headlight. Not sure ...

From your comments you seem to be within driving distance of Swindon so you could courier the wheels to Swindon and borrow/hire a small van for a half day to pick them up Now that is a very good idea :dance . Think i may just hire a car for a few days and get the wheels sent down by courier and the...

Many thanks guys. Looks like i may have to take a risk. Is there anyone in your area with a set of appropriate winter wheels that would allow you to borrow them for the period? Hi Charles. I will look into that option but I can honestly say I don't think I will have much luck. Pitty as it would be a...

Alloy wheel carriage

Hi guys, I am after a little bit of advice. The wheels on the D3 really need a refurb, well they actually don't but I want them pristine. The dilemma that i have is that i commute in the car and I don't have access to any other transport etc. So i was going to take the car off the road for a week or...

@ ade and liz flint I noticed you had a set of dynamics re done by Lepsons, i take it that this is prestige now from other posts. Out of interest it looks like you removed the valve stems before sending them. Mine are like a brass sort of material and i would like to paint them too. Have you painted...
