Tom,

Long time ago when I had my D3, I managed to get gap with Ala. Phoned them and explained what D3 is and they came back few days later and said that it's fine. 4 year policy was about half the price Sytner would charge for their 3 year one. Worth trying

The F10 550i has taken on the daily grind and we've just picked up an E89 Z4 30i SDrive for the missus which if she is lucky she might get a go of (but don't tell her that!). My mrs has the same one for the last 2 years, that's why I got relegated to driving a bus. Good fun, just bevare of water in...

In some computer languages, the default or start date is 1/1/70. I'm pretty sure it's in "C" and php, which is used for the forum software so it could happen that the real value just got lost . :D

Cheers. Got out in it today, was a nice drive. A lot more comfortable than my impreza, but can't say the diesel chatter matches the impreza burble haha. Think I might be needing new brakes soonish (<5K) struggling to find any recommendations for them, is it just a case of stick to OEM? Don't go sho...

Re: D3 Remap

Anyone had their D3 remapped? Had various remapped diesels including 330, 335s but the D3 just isn't quite quick enough on over taking. Anyone recommend it or not as the case may be and who with and what sort of figures do you get? I remember few topics about this, try using the search. Also have a...

Hmmm, maybe cheap not best? If I can get same miles for money, I will happily shell out..... Michelin PS2, had new set fitted when I bought the car, did ~22k miles and still had 3.5-4mm all around. Not a lot of mway miles and lots of fast cornering, that's the reason for fronts and rears wearing eq...

Ian,

I believe it does. I used to buy oil and get bmw to change it and have at least 3 one litter bottles half full in the garage.

There are 3 different types of oil service with more filters being changed every time. After you are done with the third, you go back to the first one

I absolutely love my car, best I've ever had, BUT why do BMW sell cars that have 'common faults' and let them go? In the 6-8 weeks I've had her, door actuator- common fault Front Brake sensor- common fault Sensor for abs/traction control that needs a repair kit I think- common fault Now this, guess...

I was getting ~£10.5k as part exchange from BMW, Volvo and Merc 3 weeks ago for #323, 43k miles with full BMW service history, 3 moderately scuffed alloys, few car park scratches but no deep ones and all tyres between 3 and 4mm. First reg was March 2007 and I was the second owner. How that translat...

Thinking of buying used X5 with tow bar - advice

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice so any help is welcome. Considering trading my D3 for an X5, looking for ~4 year old although it seems that most of the interesting ones are a bit above what we would like to spend. Now, I actually found something far more expensive, just about 3yo and it's LCI model an...
