Re: White D4 Biturbo - Heathrow

Collectingbrass - that's extremely unfair! I've covered 170,000 miles over the last ten years in two different Alpinas and never been spotted, yet you collect yours and get spotted straight away

Re: D4 from petrol? Anyone know #042

How are you finding ownership, Mileage has slowed down now to about 12k per year but I love the car. I've never driven a B4 (or B3) but I would expect their power delivery to be more "urgent". This is just so smooth but if you press on it's really quick. Most passengers have no idea it's a diesel. ...

At 15k per year I won’t gain enough from mpg to warrant a diesel. So the depreciation is worrying.
At that rate, surely you can look for a four-year-old D3 or D4 which is being given away free

I'm not convinced the breach was this forum. I started receiving these emails (up to 15 per day at the height!) in (I think) November last year. If it was this site, we'd all have had them and this would have been raised by someone before now.

Happy New Year

As the forecast for today was fine I decided to get up very early to watch the first sunrise of the year. I went into the garden but couldn't remember which way to face to watch the sun come up - but then it dawned on me

Thanks for all the suggestions - spoilt for choice but now sorted. We've gone for one in Weston - The Chequers - as it's so near J9 of the M40. Hope that's the one Norrie meant. (My lunch companion is in his 80s and not the navigator he once was!)

Lunch Near Oxford - Recommendations Please

I'm meeting a friend for lunch in early December. Oxford is roughly half way between us but neither of us knows the area. I'll be traveling from Hampshire up the A34 and he'll be coming from Warwick. Somewhere easy to find would be favourite

I'm pretty sure I used 17" on my E92 as winter wheels but your handbook or door pillar info should tell you.

It's also important to get the correct offset (handbook again) so they don't foul the callipers from side on.

Someone with an E90 series handbook will confirm if you don't have one.

I believe they have superior grip on dry or wet roads when the temperature falls below 7℃ - not just in snow. Remember the snow we had about five or six years ago? My (previous) car had to live at the bottom of our not very steep hill for about three weeks. I was not a happy boy! Even two neig...

I've always assumed that the changeover when winters perform better than summers is when the temperature is below 7℃ - here in the sunny south, that's usually some time in November.

Not sure about the light rear damage ...
I couldn't't see which light at the rear was damaged but I could see the almighty shunt at the rear  Damaged in transit?
