If you can travel I would try Research Garage Group, Nuneaton. They have a dedicated body shop and frequently re-sprayed the front of Craig's B6 (Craig is one of the owners!) If you do intend going let me know beforehand and I will "prime" them to give you a good price!!

I used to get around 18 mpg on my B5 and that was driving it quite hard. Currently get around the same in the B6. That would be based upon mainly "Fun" back roads. Never really done an urban run in rush hour - what's the point!! The problem really is the fuel tank - it really is too small! Don't kno...

Sat Nav

I have had a company called acousticar do all my equipment, they installed a road pilot, front camera and garage openers to my B5, a blue tooth kit and sat nav in my daily driver, Multi Media in X5 and they did a first class job on each occasion, being VERY careful to put exactly where I wanted and ...

Personally I think the answer is an additional parking space type; we already have Disabled and Parent/Child spaces, how about spaces marked "ALP" with sponge protected kerbs and extra width for protecting those large coupe doors!! I do know a road painter, perhaps he could be persuaded for a fee???...

Care detailing of my B6 - by someone else!!

Pictures from todays outing on my B6 - only problem is.. it looks so good I do not want to drive it over to Nottingham! Think it will have to go on a transporter! The job done on my car is absolutely amazing. Pictures don't really do it justice - but apparently the grin on my face when I saw it said...

Faulty "lit" Alpina signs on door trim

I went out in the dark for the first time last night! (I have lived a sheltered life) and found out that the "alpina" sign covering on the door well lights up in blue! Nice touch. However it is quite fragmented with bits of lit blue areas and then blank "white bits" I assume this is because dirt has...

I always clean the car before I put it away which is why I like to keep a cover on it, as otherwise it collects a layer of dust and grime in the "open garage" - If it is dirty in anyway I never put the cover on. Thanks anyway for the comments guys, seems that no-one has a real strong opinion so I th...

Car Covers

Done a little research on this but would appreciate your thoughts. I have a garage in which I store my B6, but it is "open" at one end. This unfortunately means that the boot of the car can get slightly wet if it rains and also allows dust/leaves etc to blow in. For my B5 I purchased a all weather c...

Oh how disappointing, there I was thinking that Alpina had made a previous D5 and I had missed it! This had me totally fooled, everything appeared to be genuine Alpina, the front spoiler, the new wheels including central hub caps. I know, if I contact the seller he can probably tell me were I can ge...

Thanks for the tips guys. Seems to me that there are certain restrictions with the I Drive Navigation. Think I will go for the latest disc and see what happens - also have a "friend" at one of local BMW dealers who is going to check out the firmware version and go from there. Loving the car, roof do...
