Re: Agreed value

Technically it is based on market value but if you do a search on Autotrader nationally the price range is quite wide, low mileages being obviously the most expensive, 15-18k is probably about right for cars that have been cared for and had either mechanical or body restoration work done. My sills w...

Re: Agreed value

Hi Barry, I've been with A-plan for the last couple of years with the Alpina, Mini and the Audi A6 I inherited from my Dad, the B10 is on an agreed value classic policy for 17k, I had an extensive body restoration carried out 3 years ago so it's looking like new again and I wanted to protect that in...

Re: B10 E39 front bumper removal

Hi Barry, It is possible to remove the bumper as one unit however I've never actually done it myself, but as you can see from the current picture below of mine, the bodyshop has done just that, the Alpina section on mine was sealed on to the BMW bumper back in 2008 (that was by a BMW dealers in hous...

Re: B10 V8 - Rolling restoration

A little bit of lube on the o-rings helps with fitment both on the lock covers and the centre caps as well, I've had the generation 1 version of the Horsham Forge cover tool for years and I wouldn't be without it, takes the stress off the key and you as you no longer have to worry that the keys twis...

Re: B3.3 - Head Gasket?

Well if it is the head gasket then have a look at the thread about mine when it started weeping at the back of the block on the 3.2 engine, which is the same bore size as your 3.3 as you can see from the head gasket part number below, (your additional capacity comes from a longer stroke crankshaft),...

Re: B10 3.2 new thermostat housing fitted

I decided to replace this with an aluminium aftermarket part and managed to track one down. I fitted it today, along with a new thermostat and yet more new coolant. It is nice to carry out an upgrade and at less cost than using an original OEM part. I fitted one of these a few years back when mine ...

I had a similar issue before Christmas with 2 PS4's in 265/35 R18 size for my B10, I went to ATS for them but they couldn't get any date from Michelin when new stock would become available, fortunately they located two at an ATS centre, in Kent I believe, which they transferred over and fitted for m...
