| Review: | One light still left on the service indicator but a few niggles make me organise a service
13 months / 13k and a day at Donnington and still the Alp doesn't want a service. However a few little niggles have brought it forward:
1. Near side parking light bulb
2. Off side fog light glass smashed(courtesy of Donnington)
3. Small rattle on dash
4. Surface stipped off 1 of the Alpina Wheel inserts
5. Reg Plates looking scruffy
In addition I have a few pixels that have disappeared from the dash computer. To be precise 2 lines of pixels - midly irratating but now I have spoken to BMW / Alpina very annoying. It seems that the small LCD at the bottom of the dash only comes with a complete instrument cluster. I have come a cropper of the larger component syndrome before with cars - small piece fails and you have to change a large bit even though it works fine. Well if I was a BMW driver it would be a £300ish instrument cluster. But now I drive an Alpina so .... wait for it ..... a £1300ish instrument cluster - Wow !! I can't understand how the Alpina instrument cluster can cost 4 times as much for almost identical kit ?? I am still investigating this and will report back later.
