Review:I picked the car up on a dull Friday afternoon, it was a walking weekend in Wales so I got to stretch her legs immediately. This is where the third benefit of a nearly new car is found:
1. Value for money
2. Quickly available
3. Already run in
It is clear to say that I was not the least bit disappointed with my purchase and thoroughly enjoyed the drive to and from South Wales. The mid range umph was fantastic which is great for overtaking and just the grin factor.
Insurance was interesting.... Most household name insurance companies had never heard of Alpina. This means quotes are quite time consuming and usually involve the agent calling you back later. The first year the car was insured with Guardian Direct. Unfortunately they got a little greedy the second year and so I had all the fun again. In the end I settled for Privilege Insurance who seemed very professional and did know what a BMW Alpina was and further more what a B10 3.3 was.
The other difficulty I had was working out if it made sense in cold hard terms e.g. money. Pick most cars an you are able to find huge amounts of data/articles/news/reports however I struggled with the Alpina.
Obviously after I had bought it I found lots of info - but in the short time between seeing and buying - I found very little.
