ALPINA Addiction

Post by neil » Wed Feb 18, 2009 12:17 pm

I'm a self confessed ALPINA addict,

but what evidence do you have for your addiction:

Sat in my office I think mine is pretty obvious:

My phones:

My Sat Nav:

Other tell tell signs:

1. You constantly have a sore neck from trying to spot ALPINAs, with onset of Whiplash

2. You baffle your workmates by shouting and jumping up - they turn around expecting a gorgeous woman - only to find you're staring at an ALPINA (or probably a BMW that you thought might have been an ALPINA)

3. Every car related conversation ends up with you comparing what ever vehicle has been mentioned to the closest ALPINA. e.g. 'Have you seen the new Toyota Prius' - 'Yes but what's really amazing is the fuel economy and performance of the new D3....'

4. You see ALPINA anywhere (as seen in this recent thread: Dancing on Ice thread !)

5. Your wife / significant other is trained (almost as if being hypnotised) to zone out whenever the trigger word 'ALPINA' is spoken.

6. Your friends and family start ringing, SMS and emailing you their ALPINA spots to you.

7. Someone you know has bought an ALPINA, based on your constant badgering.

Hmm, yes my "dancing-on-ice" thread.

It probably says it all.... although in my defence, the programme was really very dull.

However, I do have a B6 racer as my background on my home PC and a couple of pics in my phone, oh and the scan of an old B3S article also on the phone.

But no Alpina pics hanging in the study though. Just a collection of pics from a Goodwood Festival I went to.

Probably doesn't rank me very highly in the "anorak table".

Neil I loved your framed pic of your speedo on the Autobahn, that's true addiction!

This is all we've got inside the house, Dad framed the ALPINA adverts I did a while back and now they hang proudly in the office:

Own an ALPINA B3

Purchasing the following domain names nealpina.co.uk and nealpina.com and configured them as the following e-mails addresses oal@nealpina.com & co.uk - very sad IMO

ALPINA Mug

ALPINA Sweater

Two ALPINA mouse mats

About 10 ALPINA books – 2 in German and don’t understand a single word apart from BMW ALPINA.

Always talking about ALPINA and comparing their achievements and developments with current cars i.e. BiTurbo, Switch-tronic etc.

ALPINA odds and sods

Also Neil’s list from one to six – still working on seven

Chas you forgot to mention that you started your eldest Son early with his addition. The ALPINA bib from the ALPINA factory tour 2007
Oscar Wilde & Burkard Bovensiepen: I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

Addiction or passion the line is very close

Where did you pick up all the posters/photo's Neil as they don't seem to be commonly available and my home office could do with brightening up so a useful steer in the right direction would be much appreciated...

Apparently Alpina produce the trim and side skirts of the wheel arches of the 4.8is exclusive x5 model?

Preivous owner of two B10 v8's, a black fleece with ALPINA ronal and b10 v8 on the back lol. So even though i dont actually own one right now still love the brand.
