6/10/2008 - Move over google maps

Post by neil » Mon Oct 06, 2008 11:49 pm

Stumbled onto multimaps new feature the other day and have to say I love it....

http://www.multimap.com

It's called bird eyes view and it allows you to see wait for it a .... well yes it does what you'd expect - what I particualrly like is the clarity - googel earth and microsoft's own version both use satelite images - which are good but don't go to get too close. The multimap alternative is interesting too as you can spin through 4 different angles.

Worth a look if you haven't seen it yet.

Certainly makes finding somewhere easier (for me at least) because you can recognise it when you get there - a useful addition to sat nav.

I agree Neil, I find myself looking up different areas just to see the "Birds Eye View". :)

That is really cool. Don’t know whose car is parked outside my house – it’s not mine

I cannot remember the make but there is a Satnav that displays the bird’s eye view. Therefore soon perhaps all Satnavs will have this

They're very old images - the one of my house is from before we moved in, so it's at least five years old...

Didn't you pay extra for a no-fly zone over Charles Towers ?

You can enable the BMW Sat Nav to have birds eye view, BMW call it perspective view.

It can only be used on the Mk IV DVD version that has the latest update.

I have it both on the B10 and the 330d :D
