The BMW ones last a long time 100k ish

I did mine twice as the first time i fitted one with a metal cast impeller and the weight of it knocked the bearing out after about 40,000. So i fitted one with a plastic impeller which had done 20k fine before i sold it

the BMW ones have like a pressed steel impeller. Mind you its virtually the same pump as fitted to the 3.3 and 3.4 engines

My E36 B3 had done nearly 250,000 miles when i sold it, i did the pump first at about 190k when i bought it as it needed a top end rebuild as the cylinder head was cracked.
