This is a nice looking car, with great spec: full Clouded Cognac Lavalina and most options except LSD.

It could be priced at £25k, and you'd probably comment the same. According to you, the new cars are overpriced, and anyone would be a **** to buy one - I happen to be one of those ****, and will enjoy discussing further, should we ever meet. The used cars (private or dealer) are overpriced, and anyone would be a **** to buy one. Yet you've been chatting about chopping in your 2yr old D3 for how many months now? Do you have a superiority complex? Why do you own an Alpina at all, surely a Dacia would be a more economical choice? You're going to lose your mind when you see how much a Freddo costs these days.RufRt12 wrote:I don’t doubt it’s a nicely spec’d car but, with that sort of milage, I’d expect it be around three or four grand cheaper!!
I may be new round here, but what bemuses me already, is how certain individuals discuss their passion for the brand, but do nothing but slag it off, certainly when it comes to pricing. People bemoan the length of time it takes to sell an Alpina, and eventually when they do, complain about the low price they had to settle at to shift. Then when a car is advertised, all they do is kick the "high" price. And have the audacity to question where the support for the brand is? Doesn't that start here, with us?
Surely a higher priced vehicle is of benefit to us owners, certainly when/if dealing with insurers? And/or when trying to sell our own vehicle? Surely a dealer is expected to make a profit? Yes, there are some awful examples and ridiculous prices, but that's one persons opinion. Let the potential buyer worry about that. I wouldn't pay a million plus for a piece of "art", others would, for pleasure or investment. And yes, I'm sure we all have tales to tell of bad experiences from certain dealers etc.
Sorry, I couldn't keep it bottled anymore. All this crap, makes me want to disappear from the forum, and not bother partaking in any meets. I appreciate they'll be a level of "discussion" on certain topics, but this is just constant negativity. Can't we all just enjoy these fine automobiles, whilst we still can, and actually support the brand, in a positive manner?
Couldn't agree more - well said that man.DeeJayHaitch wrote:Sorry, I couldn't keep it bottled anymore. All this crap, makes me want to disappear from the forum, and not bother partaking in any meets. I have been hoping that the recent increase in negativity - particularly for used cars sales - might die down, but I fear not. This appears to centre on a handful of contributors who are clearly gaining a (poor) reputation for their actions and behaviour on the forum. Unfortunately this has a knock-on effect on the (silent) majority here in numerous ways.
Perhaps certain people might like to reflect on whether their contributions are actually being well received by others because, from my post bag, I can tell you that they are not. I am now finding that I am having to step in and discuss privately what's going on more and more often. In these situations, I am simply the messenger passing on feedback and seeking a measured response, rather than a passionate owner and lover of the brand.
It's been said more than once that we all have an opinion but, just because we have one, it doesn't mean we have to express it. I leave this for you all to consider and reflect upon - particularly given the high profile nature of this forum in terms of people searching for information on the ALPINA brand.
