B3 carbon clean vs walnut blast?

Hi all, has anybody had a terraclean or walnut blast on their car and which works best? I have been advised that mine with 73000 could benefit from the intakes being cleaned due to direct injection? Any advice or opinions ? The car runs well but sometimes lumpy idle at cold but plugs and coils replaced 🤔

From what I've heard a proper BMW specialist doing a walnut blast is best.

id be very surprised if the problem you are trying to solve would be cured with an deep intake clean.... i know its a common issue with the v10 in c6 platform audi but i dont think its the main cause of your issues

have you had fault codes checked?

E9x b3biturbos are plagued by two well known faults: high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) failure and turbocharger wastegate rattling on idle. Worth checking any history there, and if any trouble starting or going straight to a rough idle, suspect hpfp.

Any Direct injection engine can suffer from carbon build up on the intake valves and the N54 which the E9x B3 uses is no exception.

Walnut blasting is the best way to remove it.
