best warranties out there

Post by rodbargee » Mon Jun 11, 2018 11:58 pm

Just looking into a new warranty package for the b5 the current one is not up to snuff now its over ten years old despite offering a pre inspection before they quote on it...Ideally it should cover the charger which my previous one did till renewal! downgrading the cover from 3000 max for any one incident to 1000 no limit on claims numbers save that the max value is the value of the car.... how much would an all singing BMW one be...its just had the full health check inspection and is tip top at the minute

Probably best to give them a call for a quote, won’t be cheap though.
It depends on your mileage aswell as age and service history. I was quoted over £2000 for the basic warranty which had a maximum claim limit of £5000.
I didn’t bother as I have a new charger and lots of other new stuff already fitted so am happy to save the money instead.

I have the BMW fully comprehensive warranty and would not touch anything else, it has proved invaluable replacing a host of parts and giving me peace of mind. I still have it on my 2005 car.

I know one ALPINA owner who has had, yes waiting for it nearly 40K, yes Forty thousand pounds worth of warranty work, including two superchargers, new ecu, total engine rebuilt, new drive shaft and new transmission. No upper limit to claim as long as fees paid on continuous monthly basis.
