Dpf regeneration

Post by johnty22 » Thu Apr 26, 2018 7:27 pm

Ok so im unable to upload the pic but anyway on my dash under service items there's a pic of a dpf with a red fan above and a small orange triangle
Does this mean the dpf won't regenerate ?

Which model car is it?

If its a pic of a filter with a fan it is likely to be the pollen filter. On the D3 this is in the engine bay buy the windscreen - a few screws and an easy DIY change, I've just picked up a Mann filter for mine

If its picture of a baked bean can on its side, half shaded then its the DPF.

If the DPF symbol has come up then it is likely your car will hesitate if you try and go over 3000 rpm approx and you'll need to get a garage to arrange a force regeneration and read the codes.

Sorry yeah it's a d3 it looks like a can with dots inside . There's 2 similar one says diesel i presume that's the diesel fuel filter. And other doesn't say anything just has fan pic in red and can in red . Any ideas why i can't upload a pic to show you.

If its the symbol like the one at post 9 then its the pollen filter that needs changing:

I just changed mine for one of these on the weekend:
