Hi hap

The E46 is too old for my tastes now. The ride and control weights don't suit my ageing bones, neither does the never ending need to be under them. I'm a bit past crawling under cars at all often now, but I still enjoy fettling them.

I have 1st dibs on something very interesting, the availability of which should become clear soon and I cannot reveal its identity for fear of beheading. If that isn't to be sold, I'll be looking for an E90/1 B3sBiturbo (unlikely) or an F10/1 (I'm looking at one next week next to our Porsche dealer for an idea of what's on offer) or an F30/1. Not bothered what juice it likes.

I can't go coupe or convertible route as door length is an issue for me, so my focus is quite narrow, and I'm in absolutely no rush as we have 2 cars anyway and I have asbestos pockets ;)

Cheers. If my 1st pick is a no go I'll be needing eyes and ears as otherwise we think an Alpina needs to be car 3 in the fleet at present or I'll quickly lose interest....and possibly a wife! The F10/1 may defeat our garage dimensions so that may yet become a throwaway idea, and I am concentrating around 3-series size as a result.
Some nice D5's out there though😎

Hi Ade,

I picked up my D5 this week and like many I'm looking for places to take it out for a drive. As you are just up the M48 from me I'd be happy to pop up to help you with checking your garage dimensions :)

Kind of you but I already have the answer....just a bit too long for comfort! Plus you've not seen how tricky it is to the nsf: I'm used to negotiating literally mm-precise access but not in another's car. I'd hate we caught your new car. Consequently we have to concentrate on 3 series- based options .....such as Gazoos car.

We're regularly up and down through your area as it's our back way into the city when needed is when motorways 'full'. We should arrange a get together sometime to see what you have there 8)

No problem, I managed to come up with plenty of reasons to take the car out :)

A meet sounds good, possibly when the better weather arrives.... :?:

pm sent some days ago: no reply. Maybe you'll see this.....

Any condition information? Tyres/body/interior?? Current service requirements/history? Mot due? Current condition pictures? etc etc.

Cheers

I did. I feel he's away....or changed his plans. If I wait near 2 weeks initially it's likely the whole saga will take months. If I were selling anything, I'd be hotwired to my Comms devices and extremely civil to all who contacted me; including the timewasting dribblers.

As it is it gave me time to consider needs further; petrol only.
