HELP! Two E9x Dynamic 19inch alloys needed at Sytner Notts

Post by Bertroex » Fri Feb 23, 2018 1:18 pm

Dear Oracle of Alpina's,

I have not had a good few weeks with my trusty E92 Alpina B3 BiTurbo. I've hit a large pothole on the central lane of the M6 southbound, and it pierced my front michelin tyre, buckled my front alloy and rear alloy, damaged something in the rear suspension leading to the rear tyre wall being forced into the wheel arch destroying the rear tyre.

I had the vehicle recovered to Sytner Nottingham, as I wanted the car to be assessed by the UK specialists.

The quote for the repairs at the moment is standing at £3308 Inc of VAT, and the insurance company (who is in a legal issue with Highways agency as the pot hole was known in a 50mph roadwork area) only approved to assess the damage by setting up the suspension.

BUT WE CANNOT SET UP THE SUSPENSION as the wheels are too badly damaged and the tyres don't hold air.

I have offered to bring my winter wheels up (18 inch style 270 M3 wheels) but from experience I know that these 18 inchers do sit differently in the wheel arches.

My question to anyone on the forum is:

do you have your e9x car being serviced at Sytner? May we borrow for a few hours a front and rear 19 inch dynamic alloy?

It is a long shot, but my car is out of action since the beginning of January and the order of two new alloys from Buchloe takes three weeks....

Many thanks in advance for your responses or tips.

Would have though the Sytner group would have a spare wheel or 2 they could pop on for you to set up the suspension.
Have they asked you to source wheels?

I have a full set of E90 D3 MONO turbo Dynamic alloys.
Pretty sure they are 8.5 and 9.5 staggered setup.
The later biturbo ones used narrower and different offset wheels.
Not sure which ones were fittted to the B3

Mine are in Edinbugh perhaps a tad far to borrow?

My summer set are in the garage, but again probably too far to be of any assistance....
