F31 D3bt on The Grand Tour

Post by Paulb » Sun Dec 24, 2017 4:12 am

Episode 3 (first shown Friday 22nd December 2017).

On the Business Park race track, there was 3 shots of a D3 biturbo touring in Grey, side stripes and looked to be on 19's. No registration sadly but would be good to know who's it was.

During filming of the series, Clarkson took out Sytners demonstrator for a group test, would be good to see that on air.
Nothing to see here.... move along in an orderly fashion please!

I just watched this episode and if it paused at 27:50 the plate can just about be read.

The plate is S17 NER (Sytner demo plate for those not in the know).

As mentioned above highly likely to be the demonstrator which Clarkson took out (wasn't aware of this until I read the above post). If so it is a bit missleading as one of the cars is not from the workers at the business park.

Off topic with the ALPINA:

Shame about the sloppy gear change in the Abarth. I would have like to have seen the time of that - as they are quicker than they look.

The final lap was good - no real contest but the M4 was sliding good
Oscar Wilde & Burkard Bovensiepen: I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

Been bothering me since your post. Therefore had some free time this morning and found this:

Unlike the above article I cannot find a Cura Technical in Dunstable, but may be a regional office which is not mentioned on their website or on google maps.

Also I thought ALPINA were not going to provide Top Gear with a ALPINA - after Clarkson's inaccurate review. However Clarkson and his team creates a new show, but with the same format, and they can borrow a ALPINA?
