£100k? Thats madness,

I like this quote from his ad "please no time wasters / dreamers and silly offers" surely the only dreamer here is the seller?

I think chap has mistakenly put cat d on the Porsche advert rather than the alpina or it's a cat d but no mention on the alpina advert

From reading the link you put up hap I can't see any mention of cat D on the Alpina. It was repaired after the insurance changed their mind on the salvage value.

The insurance company might not have categorised the car, it might be HPI clear
A lot of motor vehicles are damaged but not necessarily recorded against any registers
Somebody will have to get the registration and then preform a HPI check to confirm if it is recorded

I would love to own that car
But not at £100,000
Luckily for me , I already have a B12 6.0
Number 45 , A 2000 model
I value the car at a maximum figure of 20k, considering it has been repaired, and that's if it's been repaired correctly

I tried to buy the Alpina B12 5.0 - B12MPH
But you get guys like "AG" on the register who tell the owner that the car is worth £25k
The car needed work on it, the rear EDC suspension struts were leaking, had no mot, and I now hear the exhaust wasn't brilliant
The car was worth 10 to 12k in its present stage
But a chap who restores Astin Martins in the Newcastle region bought it
I think he might have paid 15 to 25k for it
And is currently re commissioning the car

I have spoke to the chap selling the B12 6.0
He wants offers over £100k
He's given me the registration number
So I will update on the status of the car on the HPI register
He seems to think it's HPI clear
Apparently he's bought the car with no damage !!!

After speaking to the seller this morning, Saj
I believe he is the original collector who bought the car
He's got several other cars for sale
And already sold a few in his collection
He wants to emigrate , hence the sale or sales
Plus it's showing only 2 previous owners on the B12
Good Luck to him if he achieves the price he's looking for
It is the only estorial blue Alpina B12 6.0 RHD in the world
