Hi Everyone,

I don’t know if anyone is aware but Dave Ell (Dellboy 1959) passed away suddenly earlier this year.

Unfortunately I’d never met Dave personally but one of my work colleague’s wives happens to work with his wife, Karen.

I’m sure you’ll join me in expressing our condolences and best wishes to her for the future.

My colleague (who’s a Mini nut) asked if I could go over and have a look at it to give her some advice for selling it – “you like those posh Alpina’s!!” - As Dave’s B10 V8 – B10 EEK has been sitting idle for a short while.

Karen has said that Dave wanted it to go to someone on the Register – or at least an enthusiast, so I offered to get it posted on the site, clean it up a bit and hopefully move it on to its next privileged owner.

It certainly is a beautiful example!

I’ve not finished going through all Dave’s posts on the forum but have managed to cobble together a basic description and list of history and will add to it as work allows - along with some more current photos.

Spoke to Dellboy on the telephone when I viewed a B10 V8 in Mora on his behalf. Then met him a few years later at a Sytner ALPINA meet.

Very sad news. Thoughts with Dave's family and friends at this sad time. Never got to meet Dave but he was one of only two other Alpina owners I knew of in my town of birth.
