POLL: Alpina v.s. BMW Bonnet/Boot Roundels
POLL: Alpina v.s. BMW Bonnet/Boot Roundels
We all know they are meant to be BMW (there's a zillion topics on it if you search)
But who like me has "vandalised" their car(s) and fitted Ebay special "Alpina" Roundels
By all means answer the poll more than once if you have many Alpinas
And post your arguments for either choice if you feel so inclined
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I ebay special'd mine because:
A/ I like bonnet,boot,wheels and steering wheel to match
B/ from front on, parked next to my other e39 there was little to tell it was a different beast
C/ it's damage free, cheap, a bit of fun and takes all of 5mins to swap back
1998 e39 Alpina B10 v8 saloon (toy)
2001 e39 530d sport touring (daily)
1987 e30 325i touring (epic rust killed it, but all the oily bits live on in others)
Have stayed with eth BMW Roundels, I would however like Alpina ones if they were available in the same quality as OEM BMW ones.
BMW roundels! Factory proper, and in line with the understated gentleman Q car. If a numpty thinks "its just a beamer, innit" than that is fine.
If I wanted a show- off car, I'd buy a BMW M.
BMW for me, on the B6s, and the other 2 we have owned.
Interestingly, my Racing Dynamics K38 (E34 3.5se as a base) comes from the factory with Racing Dynamics roundals fore and aft, I suppose even the manufacturers are split!
3 Alpinas all with original BMW badges on them.
I do though like the look of the Alpina Roundels but until such a time as Alpina offer them as an option on their cars (which isn't ever going to happen) then mine will stay as they left the factory.
