Poor quality diesel used through it's history won't help giving poor returns in MPG. Stick in some high quality diesel and give it a good hard drive to help clean the engine, then stick to high quality diesel and you'll start to see increase in figures.

For reference I only use Shell or BP in mine that has a quality cetane rating and always avoid supermarket and sub brand fuels.
A few years back when i had my Audi S3 i was travelling over 200 miles per day. Mainly motorway miles but also included driving through heavy traffic in London. I conducted an experiment on fuel so over the course of around 12 months i tried Shell V-Power, normal Shell, BP, Texaco and Sainsbury's.

Overall i found Shell V-Power to be the best all-rounder. At the time it cost 5p per litre more but the range and performance was considerably increased so well worth the extra.

I tried a similar experiment with my Bora Diesel but only over a course of around 3 months and returned very similar results with Shell V-Power coming out on top. Needless to say i only use Shell V-Power fuel.

Just checked things with DIS... Glowplug 1,2,& 3 open circuit so will sort those soon . While i was at it I did a back pressure test.. results as follows..

Idle 6.9 mbar (35max permissable)
2000 rpm 16.9 mbar (75 max)
4000 rpm 104 mbar (200 max)
In my opinion these figures are ok (feel free to say otherwise :) )

Also appears not done a regen for nearly 7k (only done about 6k since I had the car)...But it's not requesting one either.. How long is it normally between regens?
