Alpina 19" Softline wheel labels

Post by Metrics » Mon Mar 06, 2017 12:04 am

Gents

I'm having my wheels refurbed at the moment. I know new wheels have a red label attached to the wheel face behind the centre cap - are these available to buy anywhere?

Example:

Think I've found it in the B10 parts catalogue:

Sign "tyre mounting" (rim) 88 01 070

Should have checked first

I called Sytner Nottingham - they said no longer available. I tried my local dealer who confirmed the same.

But I've not given up and emailed Alpina Buchloe

Will update thread with progress.

Took the liberty of asking Alloy Wheels Direct, who contacted Alpina.

... Now obsolete, not stocked since August 2016.

I just ordered these early last year, but I notice they are obsolete since August.

As someone said above I wonder if Pukar would be able to redo them?

Evening all

Axel @ Alpina replied on email:

"Sorry, this label is no longer available
Since it is no longer needed on the wheels (because all wheels have RDC) we decided to stop the production".
If Alpina confirm they are not making anymore and pukar is prepared to make some I have a mint one I could send him.

I also have the crescent shaped one from the inside cap of the softline wheels with the flat cap.
This is kind offer E24man - I shall contact Pukar and see if there's any scope. If there isn't I'm sure I could get some made and offer these to members.

I'll see what I can do.

Cheers Kev. I've emailed Pukar Designs - let's see what they say.
Hi there

I hope you can help. I've bought some of your excellent Alpina centre cap badges in the past and know you specialise in stickers and labels from the older generation BMWs/Alpinas.

I wondering if you could help with producing some replacement labels for Alpina alloy wheels? The wheels from the factory had "mounting" labels applied to the centre (behind the centre cap) and also a label applied to the back of the centre caps themselves. These are now obsolete from Alpina.

I'm on the Alpina Register and another member has the original stickers (new, mint) and could kindly provide them to create a new batch. Could you help producing these?

Regards
Asim

Pukar replied, it could be doable - will drop you a PM with how we proceed.

An update on this.

These wheel labels are NLA through BMW or Alpina, so if you've had your wheel(s) refurbished and you're a purist seeking the original factory-look there is now a solution.

Thanks to E24man who had new factory labels, Kos @ Pukar Designs has been able to create superb quality copies from Kevin's originals. I was very keen to get some made as I've had the 19" Softlines refurbed on my B10 and am about to do the same to the 20" wheels on my D5, so wanted both sets covered.

Those of you who have used Pukar for their wheel emblems will know the quality of what they produce. Here's a pic:

Image

The smaller label locates on the wheel itself (see pic I posted in the first post) and the half moon labels are for the back of the centre caps.

I also bought a new tyre pressure label for the V8S as mine is a bit battered.

The wheel labels aren't on the Pukar website yet but if you email Kos @ Pukar direct I'm sure he will sort for you: info.pukardesigns@gmail.com

Thanks again Kevin (and Charles) for helping/offering the originals.
