B3 3.2 CABRIO No 60 New addition

Post by Mickl » Mon Dec 05, 2016 9:44 pm

A new addition to my fleet. Some of you may recognise No 60 from previous posts by Shocks.
I purchased the car last weekend and managed to give it a quick clean over the weekend and get some pics done for insurance purposes.
The car is pretty much spotless, loads of work done over the last 2 years so not much for me to do.
This means my Roadster S No 254 will be up for sale in the New Year.

The interior is great Simon, it might be as clean as yours is now!.
I have done 6 years with the RS and fancied a change, If I had the space I wouldn't be selling, the B3 saloon is staying though.

Life is too short to not try as many cars as possible!!

I see, fair enough. I'd wager your trim is better than mine, due to the rather lower milege! Its nice to see what the green mats look like as mine has cream instead

How do you find it compared to the 3.0? I've never tried a 3.0 car myself I imagine a bit less torque but revs a bit cleaner

Last I heard was that Fraser was never going to sell it :think , perhaps you made him an offer he couldn't refuse
He has done a lot of work on this B3, I saw it a few years ago requiring much TLC.

My word that is stunning! Great purchase, congratulations.

Is that interior original, or restored or retrimmed? Looks absolutely perfect.

Any more shots of the seats please?

Surely a B8 would be preferable to keep a largely similar engine range in the fleet and minimise spares holding

Thanks all for the positive comments.

I spotted a hint that Fraser might want to sell the car a couple of weeks ago on the Facebook Alpina owners page(sorry Brian!) and immediately made contact as I had liked the look of this car from when pictures where first posted on the forum.
I believe his plan had been to keep the car as the amount of work and money spent is evident. He has given me pictures of the car before the work was done
I made what I believed to be a fair offer and it was accepted, I think he was conscious of selling to an enthusiast who appreciated the car.

The car has been to Bespoke Leathering for work on the leather which presents almost as new.I will post some more pics when I get a chance.
Hopefully I will be attending the Sytner meet with this car.
I haven't really thought too much about the differences between the 3.0 and the 3.2 performance wise as yet, the ride though is very similar apart from a little scuttle shake.
