There's a firm that does powder coating, can't remember the name of them but their first building on the left as you exit the roundabout into Foxhills estate hap.
I've had a few things done there but not wheels and what I've had done has been spot on.

On a mission to burn as much fossil fuel as possible before it runs out.
These have done two sets for me not powder but wet painting because I found that the powder coating blisters on the wheels even if you look after them ... http://wheelrite-online.co.uk/

I would advice getting them chemically striped first and then a wet coat. Any decent wheel refurb company should be able to offer that service.hap wrote:Thanks for advice they were powder coated previously so I should be looking at a combo of both or just wet paint?
All car wheels are wet painted from new. Not sure what all the hype is about powder coating. Quick and easy I spose

Hi Hap,
I had my B10 spare wheel powder coated at Colourfast in Grimsby.
They made a great job of getting a pothole dent out of the rim but I wasn't impressed with the powder coating it chipped too easily.
BMW at Laceby painted the other four and did a good job but you need to remove the valves and strip the centre caps.
Pip Frear on Normanby Road also has a van with "Alloy Wheel Repairs" on it so that might be worth a look into.

Hap,
I can highly recommend Chris at Exel Wheels. Pretty sure he is based in Lincolnshire.
He partners with Lepsons and in my opinion the standard is the best you can get, better than factory (and I'm super fussy!). The finish is flawless and glass like, no orange peel to the lacquer at all. I recently had the set on my TT done by him, will post up some pics when I get a chance to take some.
Chris provides a slave set of wheels, so your car will stay mobile, while your wheels are being done, then come up and fit them back onto your car.

Yes hap, but to Chris' spec of finish. I've known him for years through the Porsche scene - a true perfectionist. He has a big client base with Porsche and Audi including main dealers looking to replicate the exact finish of special factory wheels.
For example he ensures the wheel mounting face is not is not covered in a thick powder coat, so the wheel mounts perfectly to the hub. On Porsches he ensure the centre bore is kept unpainted, as the proper wheel alignment equipment on Porsches attach to the centre bore, not the outer wheel face. The paint layer can affect both these parameters.
I'm not exaggerating on the finish, even the barrels of my TT wheels are flawless, the paint is so flat, completely missing the orange peel, I will get some pics up.
I cannot wait to get the 19s done on my B10 later in the summer.
Realise this might sound like an advert, but I'm just relaying my experience!
