New front discs and pads fitted to my E92, courtesy of Sytner after they made a mess of the AUC pre sale check.

They missed the warped discs amongst several other faults such as a faulty battery that they have had to make good, much to their expense.

I've acquired this Quaife LSD for my E46 8) Its in 3.38 ratio which is standard 330i auto ratio and alpinas use a shorter 3.64 in auto. Won't make much difference and give lower revs when on a run.

Also is a good ratio if you wanted to say fit a 6 speed manual box

But seriously, 215bhp on tight engine, you must be very happy with that.
With some miles under its belt that can only get better.

And under 6000rpm, assume cams not too aggressive and must be a very torquey unit.

Enjoy and excellent work - very jealous, makes me wish I bought my friends Stannard 2.7 all those years ago.

Was expecting you to say a 272/272 setup, but 284/272 - cool.

Watched the odometer trip over to 70000 miles coming back from Bicester. I'd dropped her off last week at http://projectshop.co.uk/ to have the wheel arch liners out and the wings inspected, then to have the whole undercarriage waxoyled. Simeon, the Alpina loving owner (he's had a B10 V8 and V8s) said the car was absolutely immaculate underneath and not a single bit of corrosion, even incipient, to be found.

He lent me his E30 325i as a courtesy car, and I have to say that I was utterly delighted to get back into the Alpina this morning. It's such a gorgeous car.

I'd asked him to do some photos but he had to go away the day they started. I'll ask for a description - the guy who did the work was off today at training so I was not best informed. I'll be back Thursday for some work on my M535i so I'll ask then, but it is all about stripped off the wheel arch liners and giving all the bodykit and underside a really thorough clean. It cost me £345 for labour and waxoyl, so it's a complete day job. The car is back now.

Quite by coincidence Silvercrest have just finished my wood re-lacquering. Perfect colour match and polished to same level of shine - they do a great job and taking it back to bare wood, staining, laquering and polishing the centre bit that was damaged cost me £60.

Took the B10 to CPC today for Phil and his gang to give it a general check over. Heard nothing yet. I think that means it's in for a two day stay.

I had the 'low tyre pressure (but nothing to worry about just yet)' message appear on my F31 D3.

So with excitement I immediately drove to my nearest air-hose. The Wheel Caps were not as much of a faff as I thought they may be (once Id remembered where I hid the key).

I noticed that I needed to reset the RDC (no idea what that stands for), and for that I had to be stationary to start the process.

I then sat there for ages waiting for the computer to do something before I figured I may need to drive off in order to it to reset (as it cant display the tyre pressures at standstill). Voila, all sorted.

Got a trip to Thruxton Skid Pan on Friday, so looking forward to that. And its going in for a valet on Thursday. Woohoo!

Well, it turned into a three day stay.

The B10 has now had an Inspection II, a general look over and a fresh MOT. A few little niggles have been put right (interior cloth coming away on A pillars being the most obvious from the outside) and I had a few chats with Phil which greatly added to my knowledge of the car and its ways.

For the MOT, the unexpected job (by me at least) was both rear upper camber arms being replaced, which at 142,000 miles is fine.

Good to have fresh gearbox oil (it's a manual) and final drive fluid as well. Phil said they do this as standard for their Inspection II.

I can't wait to go back in a year's time. I'm sure I can think of more that needs doing that just an oil service by then.
